It was on June 19, 2019, when the Bengali actress turned politician, Nusrat Jahan had walked down the aisle with the love of her life, a Kolkata based businessman, Nikhil Jain. Talk about her Bengali wedding or the white one, Nusrat and Nikhil’s pictures had taken our breath away and we still wouldn’t mind drooling over them once again. Every first after marriage is a special one for the newly-wedded couples, be it first birthdays, first festivals, first anniversary or first vacation. So it is for Nusrat and Nikhil too. On August 3, 2019, Nusrat Jahan and Nikhil Jain celebrated Sindhaara for the first time post-wedding. Sindhaara is derived from the term shringaar, which is an occasion wherein the bride is pampered by the elders in the family with pomp and fare and the mother-in-law hosts it for her bahu. The first Sindhaara of the son-in-law is also celebrated with as much grandeur. Sindhaara function usually takes place in the monsoons, where the couple is welcomed in a fancy manner, made to sit on a swing, are gifted with clothes and jewellery by their mothers-in-law and special food is prepared to pamper her.
Sharing her first Sindhaara celebrations pictures on Instagram, Nusrat Jahan wrote, “Thank u for making my first Sindhara so special thank u hubby @nikhiljain09 for being there..!!” Nusrat looks mesmerizing in a red and golden saree, accentuating her look with sindoor, chooda, gajra in her hair tied in bun and heavy jewellery. Nikhil Jain, on the other hand, kept it simple in a white kurta pyjama.
After a close-knit wedding ceremony with just their families in the attendance at the Six Senses Kaplankaya in Bordrum, Turkey, Nusrat and Nikhil are making the most of their married life. Sharing the official wedding pictures, Nikhil had written, “Taking the final leap @nusratchirps #thenjaffair.” The caption of the other post could be read as, “Love will keep us alive! A few days ago, Nikhil Jain and Nusrat Jahan’s official photographers, Knotting Bells had posted the newlyweds’ wedding teaser. In the video, we can see the entry of the bride, Nusrat under the phoolon ki chaadar, which her brothers are holding. In an interview with The Times of India, Nusrat Jahan had revealed how she met Nikhil Jain and had shared, "We met through friends in college and it took three-four months to utter those three words. And when we thought of taking the relationship forward, we broke the news to both our families. They approved of the match. Kadir is one of the most disciplined guys I've come across. He is not the mushy-mushy types but he will make sure his love gets the things she wants, even at 2 am. He is a one-woman man. I never saw him flirting or dancing with any girl at a party. His phone had only my pictures and I never saw any girl calling him."
She had further added, "He was the guy who would be beside me whenever I needed him... (After a pause) Kadir is extremely possessive about me. So, at first, he didn't like my profession. He used to say I don't like the whole world watching you and yearning for you. I made him understand. Then, he was okay about it. In fact, when I used to see pretty girls becoming his friends on Facebook, I was not jealous. I used to tell him, "kya baat, all good-looking girls are becoming your friends. Proud of you."
