Nusrat Jahan becomes a mother for the first time. Her estranged husband, Nikhil Jain sends wishes for her newborn baby boy!
Happiness had knocked on the doors of actress-turned-MP, Nusrat Jahan as she welcomed her first baby on August 26, 2021. Nusrat Jahan was married to Nikhil Jain, and the two had tied the knot on June 19, 2019, in the Turkish town of Bodrum. Soon, Dar-ul-Uloom, the most prominent seminary of Islamic education in Asia, had issued a fatwa against her for inter-faith marriage. In mid-2021, their split, and later, Nusrat’s pregnancy had made it to the headlines.
According to a report in the PTI, Nusrat Jahan had welcomed a baby boy on August 26, 2021, and had embraced motherhood for the first time. The actress was admitted to Bhagirathi Neotia Hospital of Park Street area in Kolkata and gave birth to a boy at 12:20 pm. Her rumoured boyfriend and actor, Yash Dasgupta confirmed the same and added that both, mother and baby are healthy.

After the news of Nursat becoming a mother to a baby boy, in a conversation with News18, Nikhil Jain shared his wish for the newborn. Stating that their differences will not stop him from wishing the newborn, Nikhil said, “I wish well for her, and a healthy life for the baby. May the baby grow and prosper in life. My differences with her would not stop me from wishing well for the newborn. I wish well for her. May the baby be super healthy and have a prosperous future."
It was after confirming her split with Nikhil Jain, on July 12, 2021, when Nusrat Jahan's picture, flaunting her baby bump, had gone viral on social media. Nusrat’s picture flaunting her baby bump in a white dress with no makeup had come as a confirmation of her pregnancy rumours. In the picture, Nusrat was seen posing with her fellow Bengali actresses, Srabanti Chatterjee and Tanushree Chakraborty.

Talking about Nusrat and Nikhil’s separation, on June 9, 2021, the actress-turned-MP had released a statement, calling her marriage invalid in India as per the marriage regulation rules of the Turkish government. She had said, "Being on foreign land, as per Turkish Marriage Regulation, the ceremony is invalid. Moreover, since it was an interfaith marriage, it requires validation under Special Marriage Act in India, which did not happen."
Nusrat had further added that according to marriage rules in court also, her wedding with Nikhil was not a valid one, and their separation had happened a long time ago. She had continued, "As per the court of law, it is not a Marriage, but a relationship or a live-in relationship. Thus, the question of divorce does not arise. Our separation happened long back."
According to a Bengali news channel, ABP Ananda, Nusrat’s estranged husband, Nikhil was not aware of Nusrat's pregnancy. Nikhil had also added that the child isn't his because they haven't even contacted each other for months.
