In the wedding world when everyone is running for pinks and blues, the actress turned politician, Nusrat Jahan took the traditional lane and wore the most gorgeous red lehenga!
The wedding world has evolved over the years so much so that every bride dreams of wearing pinks, mints, and greys on their big day. And while those lehengas look amazing, the traditional red lehenga has its own glory. After all, the red has always been associated with shaadis and we have played ghar-ghar stealing our mom's brightest red dupatta and dressing it up as saree. And looks like actress turned politician, Nusrat Jahan took the traditional lane for her wedding with Kolkata based businessman, Nikhil Jain. Nusrat is a Bengali actress and she had made nation-wide headlines when she had won the seat of MP from Basirhat constituency in West Bengal. However, it was her selfie with fellow MP-cum-actress, Mimi Chakraborty from outside the Parliament had received a lot of backlash. And she is back in the news with her grand wedding.
On June 19, 2019, Nusrat took the plunge and married Nikhil in the Turkish town of Bodrum in the presence of her family and close friends. The families flew to Bodrum on June 15, 2019, and their wedding is considered the first destination wedding in Tollywood. Today (June 20, 2019), the actress took to her Twitter handle and shared the first picture from her wedding. Along with it, she wrote, "Towards a happily ever after with Nikhil Jain", followed by a heart emoji. Take a look at the picture below:
While we love the newly married couple, we couldn't take our eyes away from Nusrat's red lehenga with gorgeous golden embroidery all over it. For those who don't know, Nusrat was earlier in a relationship with Kadir Khan, who was the primary accused in the most sensational rape case. In an interview with The Times of India, the actress had talked about how they met and had shared, "We met through friends in college and it took three-four months to utter those three words. And when we thought of taking the relationship forward, we broke the news to both our families. They approved of the match. Kadir is one of the most disciplined guys I've come across. He is not the mushy-mushy types but he will make sure his love gets the things she wants, even at 2 am. He is a one-woman man. I never saw him flirting or dancing with any girl at a party. His phone had only my pictures and I never saw any girl calling him." (Also Read: Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra And Shamita Shetty's Heartfelt 70th B'Day Wishes For Mom Sunanda Shetty)
She had further added, "He was the guy who would be beside me whenever I needed him... (After a pause) Kadir is extremely possessive about me. So, at first, he didn't like my profession. He used to say I don't like the whole world watching you and yearning for you. I made him understand. Then, he was okay about it. In fact, when I used to see pretty girls becoming his friends on Facebook, I was not jealous. I used to tell him, "kya baat, all good-looking girls are becoming your friends. Proud of you." He too was confident about me." (Don't Miss: Dipika Kakar Ibrahim And Shoaib Ibrahim's Fashion Game Proves That The Couples That Twin, Win!)
