Orry's Alleged Alcohol Consumption Case: Hotel Body Reacts To The Incident Near Maa Vaishno Devi

Orhan Awatramani, famously known as 'Orry', is an internet personality. While it's not unusual for Orry to find himself in the middle of a controversy, he landed himself in a massive one when videos and pictures of him recently went viral. Orry recently visited the revered Hindu shrine of Maa Vaishno Devi. However, another video from the same night surfaced, which alleged that the influencer was consuming alcohol near the area. Orry and seven others have been booked by Jammu and Kashmir police for the alleged consumption near the temple.

Hotel and Restaurant Association reacts to Orry's alleged alcohol consumption case

The president of the Hotel and Restaurant Association in Katra, Rakesh Wazir, has issued a cautioned notice for those who are visiting Katra. He asked the visitors to maintain the sanctity of Mata Vaishno Devi and avoid alcohol or any intoxicants. His appeal came after the famous influencer, Orhan Awatramani and seven others were allegedly found consuming alcohol near the Maa Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. In conversation with ANI he stated:

"Today, the position of the Katra is that it is (alcohol) banned here. Garlic and onion are not used in the vegetables to maintain the sanctity of the Mata Vaishno Devi... Today, indeed, they have consumed it (alcohol) inside the room, but despite that, as long as you are in Katra, you should take care of it (not take alcohol). This is our thinking."

The president of the Hotel and Restaurant Association in Katra, Rakesh Wazir, also revealed that he has spoken with the hotel about the incident. He revealed since the news broke out several people have asked him how the hotel owner didn't see that alcohol was being consumed in his property. The incident has left several devotees angry.

A FIR was lodged against Orry and seven others

Another report by Times Now stated that another accused included Russian citizen, Anastasia Arzamaskina. She had accompanied Orry and his friends to Katra. For the unversed, Orry had also shared a video of him walking towards the shrine with the caption 'Vaishnodevi Vibes' on Snapchat.

An FIR (No. 72/25) has been lodged at the Katra Police Station, listing Orry, Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Arzamaskina as the primary accused. The eight of them are being charged with violating the District Magistrate's order and allegedly hurting religious sentiments. "Taking cognizance of the complaint regarding an issue involving certain guests who were staying at Hotel of Katra and found taking alcohol, Katra police has lodged an FIR on March 15 against Orhan Awatramani (ORRY), Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Ritick Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Anastasila Arzamaskina, who consumed alcohol in hotel premises despite being told that alcohol and non-vegetarian diet is not allowed inside cottage suite as it is strictly prohibited at such a divine place of Mata Vaishno devi pilgrimage."

Police ensure strict actions against the group

In a conversation with Times Now, a Reasi Police official shared that a special team under the supervision of SP, Deputy SP and SHO Katara have been formed and will investigate the matter. They assured the devotees that notices would be sent to all accused, including the influencer, Orry, and if they were found guilty of consuming alcohol, strict actions would be taken against them.
