Shark Tank India is one of the most loved business reality shows in India. Now, the show is returning with its third season. Every year, we get to see a lot of business entrepreneurs in India pitching for their brand in front of the panel of judges, and amongst them, some get a lump sum amount from the 'Sharks' as a huge investment in their businesses. Now, the old panel of judges, including Vinita Singh, Aman Gupta, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar and Anupam Mittal will be joined by the founder and CEO of OYO Rooms, Ritesh Agarwal.

Ritesh Agarwal is an Indian entrepreneur. With him joining the popular show, Shark Tank India, it made him the youngest 'Shark' on the panel. Ritesh Agarwal's background

Born to a Marwari family in Bissam Cuttack, Odisha, Ritesh Agarwal is now counted as one of the youngest billionaires. He was brought up in Titilagarh in a family that used to run a small shop. While pursuing schooling at Sacred Heart School, at the mere age of 13, Ritesh started selling SIM cards. Afterwards, he graduated from St. Johns Senior Secondary School, in Kota, Rajasthan and moved to Delhi in 2011 for college.

Ritesh Agarwal's professional front

Then, Ritesh started a budget accommodation portal, Oravel Stays, which was accepted by Venture Nursery in September 2012. However, followed by this, the entrepreneur dropped out of college, and managed to get selected for the Thiel Fellowship in 2013. This was a great turning point in his life, as he received a grant of USD 100,000. Thus, he launched the company as OYO Rooms in May 2013. Fast forward to today, the hospitality chain is one of the biggest ones in the country.

Ritesh's net worth and awards

According to Hurun Rich List 2020, Ritesh's net worth is approximately USD 1.1 billion, which upon converting to Indian currency, is Rs. 7253 crores. For the unversed, he was featured in the Forbes 30 under 30 list for Asia. In June 2022, Ritesh was recognised by the International Hospitality Institute on the Global 100 in Hospitality.
