Pakistan actor, Imran Abbas, who stepped into Bollywood with 'Creature 3D' alongside Bipasha Basu, shared his experience of working in India. He even recalled his travelling experience in the country.
Syed Imran Abbas Naqvi, popularly known by his stage name Imran Abbas, has spread the charms of his impeccable acting and delightful personality in Pakistan and India. The 41-year-old, who is counted amongst the biggest stars in the country, has been the lead actor in several Pakistani TV series, including Khuda Aur Muhabbat, Koi Chand Rakh, Thora Sa Haq, Tumhare Husn Ke Naam, and more.
Along with receiving much appreciation for his actorial endeavours in Pakistan, Imran also garnered love in India. He debuted in Bollywood with the 2014 horror film, Creature 3D. He was cast opposite the Indian actress, Bipasha Basu. He also starred in Jaanisaar, which is a film by the director of Umrao Jaan, Muzzafar Ali. Imran then went on to play a minor role in 2016 KJo’s directed romantic film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Recently, Imran Abbas graced the Footprints podcast and talked about his life and how it has changed over the years. Whilst talking with the hosts, Hina Altaf and Syed Ali, the actor also revealed his experience of working in India. Imran revealed that he had received numerous offers from big production houses such as Yash Raj, Dharma, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Raj Kumar Santoshi, T-Series, Tips, and Raj Kumar Hirani for the lead actor of their films.
He then said that people might wonder why he ended up doing a film like Creature 3D, which did not do well at the Box Office. He disclosed that it was all due to circumstances back then. Imran then went on to talk about his travelling experience in India and reminisced about his time in Mumbai. He said:
“Mujhe toh bohot accha laga. Mere bohot pyaare dost hai udhar. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is my very dear friend. Mona Kapoor, jo ki Boney Kapoor ki ex-wife thi, wo meri rakhi bandhan behen thi. I made so much of my friends, mere khyaal se mere best friends India mein hi hai abhi. Toh mujhe toh Bombay jake bohot homely feel aaya tha.”
During their conversation in the podcast, the hosts further questioned Imran to reveal the name of one actor, who had been a great travel partner. He said that he had a great time with the Indian actress Bipasha Basu while they were shooting for Creature 3D. He said:
“Mera Bipasha ke saath bohot accha time guzra Ooty mein jab hum kar rahe the shoot Creature ke liye. Hum do hi usme main actors the toh ek hi vanity mein aake baith jaate the isliye ki kya kare, kaafi lamba schedule tha hamara. Toh bohot lamba ho gaya tha hamara Ooty mein, badi thandi jagah hai. Hamari wahan badi acchi dosti develop huyi thi. Toh hum jab bhi travel karte the, wo Bombay aa rahi hoti thi tab wo bolti thi ki yaar mujhe saath leke chal. Toh wo ek bohot accha waqt guzra hamara. She’s a very good partner to travel with.”

In the same podcast, Imran shared that as he has an architectural educational background, the first thing he notices while stepping into a new country is their airports. He mentioned that he loved the Indian capital city’s airport. He was very much impressed by the innovative representation of India through its artwork at the airport. Imran said:
“I am so impressed with Delhi airport. Mindblowing artwork. Aur unhone apne airport pe pura apna mulk bata diya hai uska arts kya hai, uski culture kya hai, uski economy kya hai. And especially jo unhone medium use kiya hai uss artwork ke liye wo itne innovative aur itne kamal ke hai. Maine bohot bade bade airport dekhe hai, lekin Delhi ka airport ek shaandaar namoona hai logo ko seekhne ke liye ki aapke mulk mein koi aaye toh aap batate hai ki ye culture hai hamara.”
The 41-year-old Pakistani actor was then questioned by the hosts to name one place he thought was the best. Imran immediately responded with “Lucknow”. He then went on to explain why he liked the 'City of Nawabs' so much. He said it was because of the city’s culture and etiquette that made him like Lucknow so much.
