Newly married, Mawra Hocane is fasting during the holy month of 'Ramzan'. She celebrated her first 'Iftari 'after marriage and spoke about managing weight during the festival.
Pakistani actress and Sanam Teri Kasam's lead heroine, Mawra Hocane, married her long-time love, Ameer Gilani, on February 5, 2025, at the Lahore fort. Social media was filled with their drool-worthy pictures from their nikaah ceremony. Mawra, is observing fast during the holy month of Ramzan, which starts on March 2, 2025, and will take place for the next 29 or 30 days. Mawra, who is newly married, fasted from dawn to sunset and celebrated her first Iftari after marriage. For the unversed, Iftar is a festive meal consumed by Muslims at sunset to break their fast during the holy month of Ramzan.
Whenever Mawra posts a picture or a video, her fans are hooked to her book to see new chapters of her life. The actress gave a view into her new life as a married woman as she celebrated her first Iftari. As seen, Mawra's Iftar platter had an array of kebabs, strawberries and varied dishes from around the world. Mawra celebrated her first Iftaari with her brother-in-law, Farhaan Saeed, and husband Ameer, and it looked like she had a blast. Mawra does love eating anything but is weight conscious as her post read:
"Not me gaining all the extra weight on first iftari".
Mawra and Ameer had a dreamy wedding at the Lahore fort. For her special day, the actress donned a pastel mint blue-hued lehenga that had red and purple embroidery. Ameer looked dapper in a doshala and a pathani suit as he posed with his soulmate. The couple, who never revealed details of their relationship, reportedly had been seeing each other for a long time. The duo looked breathtaking in their hush-hush wedding. Mawra had captioned her nikaah pictures as:
"And in the middle of chaos… I found you. BISMILLAH 5.2.25."
Mawra and Ameer did not meet on the sets of their Pakistani serial, Sabaat. An old video from Pakistani Cinema resurfaced where Mawra shared Ameer had paid for her water bottle in the exam hall as she had forgotten her wallet. Recalling the filmy incident, the actress said:
"Mai exam hall ke baahar se apne liye paani khareed rahi thi aur paani leneke baad mujhe realise hua mere paas mera wallet nahi hai. And then Ameer was there. That’s the only time we have interacted. Mai ekdum pareshaan ho gayi ki mera driver kaha hai, mai abhi kaha se apne wallet mangwaaun, tab he said its ok I will pay for you.”
Mawra Hocane, who was initially called Mawra Hussain, changed her surname when she was in her school. Her elder sister, Urwa Hocane, also created a mark in Lollywood cinema. Mawra is best known for her Pakistani dramas, Aahista Aahista, Ik Tamanna Lahasil Si, Sammi, Sabaat, and Neem. It was in 2016 when she did her Bollywood debut opposite Harshvardhan Rane in Sanam Teri Kasam.
