The holy month of Ramadan began on March 11, 2024, and will continue until April 10, 2024. During this time, the Pakistani television industry airs special dramas to entertain its viewers during their fasting. Dramas like Fairytale, Suno Chanda, Hum Tum, and more are all part of the initiative. This year, HUM TV aired the drama, Very Filmy under the same initiative, but the drama is now in trouble for mocking ace Indian actor, Shah Rukh Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most sought-after actors not only in India but worldwide. His fame and success need no introduction; just the name, SRK is enough. The Indian entertainment fraternity even considers Shah Rukh Khan the nation's last superstar. There is no denying that the magnitude of fame and glory he has managed to achieve is unmatchable.

Pakistani drama, Very Filmy got banned for mocking iconic Shah Rukh Khan movies

Ramadan's special drama, Very Filmy, first aired on HUM TV on March 12, 2024, and became an instant hit among the viewers for its light-hearted approach and unique plotline. It stars Ameer Gilani and Dananeer Mobeen in lead roles and follows the story of two different individuals who are forced to tie the knot under certain circumstances. As the plot thickened, Very Filmy, rightfully to its name, inculcated certain filmy scenes in the drama, taking a dig at the famous movies of legendary Indian actor, Shah Rukh Khan.

Very Filmy imitated iconic scenes from famous SRK movies, such as Devdas, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Pathaan, and more. This mocking of the Shah Rukh Khan movies did not sit well with netizens, who demanded an immediate ban on the drama. Some were disappointed that Pakistani dramas are now making fun of another nation's drama for attention, while others were miffed that the dramas are promoting Indian movies.
