Parineeti Chopra Would Cut Rasgulla On B-Day, Couldn't Afford Cake, Netizens Say, 'Knife To Tha..'

Parineeti Chopra has once again found herself on the wrong side of the internet after her comment about her parents not being able to afford a cake went viral.

Parineeti Chopra grew up in Ambala with her parents and recently opened up about the hardships she had to face growing up. The actress is one of the most adored celebrities and has been living a comfortable life with her husband and politician, Raghav Chadha. However, according to the actress, it was not always the same when it came to the luxurious life she now enjoys.

Parineeti Chopra shared that she used to cut rasgullas on her birthdays because her parents could not afford a cake

Parineeti Chopra recently sat for a conversation with Mashable Middle East, where she shared about how her parents gave her a lovely mindset, which helped her adjust to every surrounding. The actress revealed that she grew up with very little, and her parents were struggling. She revealed that even on her birthday, they would bring her a piece of rasgulla or rasmalai, which she would cut as a birthday cake because her parents could not afford a real cake. She stated:

"I have seen struggle of my parents where they used to not have money for a birthday cake for me and my dad used to go to the market and buy one piece of rasgulla, just a piece not a kilo, one piece of rasgulla or rasmalai and we used to cut that rasmalai like a birthday cake."

Parineeti Chopra reveals why she can adjust anywhere and with anyone

In the same conversation, Parineeti Chopra revealed that while her parents were struggling in Ambala, her grandparents used to live a luxurious life in Kenya. She added that she would live with them every summer for two months and enjoy the affluent life. Parineeti further stated that this arrangement made her and her brothers exceedingly adjustable. She can be quoted as:

"My grandparents, who used to live in Kenya, they were very affluent. So I used to go from Ambala, where we had almost nothing, and I used to go and live this luxurious life for 2 months every year because I used to go for my summer vacations. Because of that me and both my brothers, I feel we can adjust anywhere with anybody. We can make friends with anybody."

Soon, the post about Parineeti Chopra cutting a rasgulla was made to the discussion platform Reddit, and netizens were left divided. A user wrote, "Knife to tha na ya ungli se hi kaatna padta tha?" A user responding to the comment penned, "Hairpin se, wo bhi kisi se udhaar li thi." A user questioned how she was able to afford studying abroad if her parents were struggling and stated, "London kaise chali gyi behen padhne ??? Priyanka's mom is literally vidhayak ki beti. They are all super rich by normal standards, Parineeti behen, calm down."

Another user took to the comment section and penned, "This is so funny wtf she’s always making up these fake sob stories, embarrassing." A user commented, "Like Kartik said! Sabko outsider banna hai! Sabko sob stories bolke sympathy garner karna hai!" While a Redditor pointed out that rasgulla is more expensive and wrote, "Wrong gameplay. Rasgulla per kg is more expensive than a small cake for a nuclear family."
