Aap Ki Adalat's recent episode featured Bollywood actress, Parineeti Chopra and politician, Raghav Chadha. This was the couple's first proper sit down together on any show, and they were open to addressing any and all topics. They talked about their love story, how they met, how Parineeti googled him, her decision to marry a politician and their grand wedding.
The conversation was smoothly flowing, with Pareeniti Chopra and Raghav Chadha sharing about their one year together as a married couple. They gave us insights into their relationship. However, things got off track when Pari's smile evidently faded after her husband, Raghav, poked fun at her during the show.
Parineeti and Raghav were talking about their bond and marriage when Raghav Chadha told the host, Rajat Sharma, during Aap Ki Adalat, that the couple was happily married, where Parineeti was the happy one, and he was married. As soon as Raghav made the joke, Pari's smile melted off, and she was seen passing an unamused look towards her husband and asked him to keep quiet. He was quoted saying:
"We are happily married. She is happy, and I am married."
Raghav Chadha was seen making such remarks throughout the show. The politician once even commented that in a marriage, there is someone who is always right, and then there is someone who is the husband. However, he did not stop there. He continued by saying that he is always the one who admits that he is wrong, and Pari simply agrees with him. He was quoted saying:
"Shaadi jo hai vo aisa bandhan hai, jahan ek aadmi humesha sahi hota hai aur doosra humesha pati hota hai. Hum samjhota kar lete hain. Main apni galti qbool leta hoon aur yeh mujhse agree kar leti hain."
The netizens are not liking Raghav Chadha's comments. Snippets of these jokes are constantly being shared on social media with users slamming the politician for making such backhanded comments about his partner. However, Another remark from the episode that has been circulating on the internet is when Raghav shared a mantra for a successful marriage and said, “A happy wife is a happy life.”
Raghav Chadha and Parineeti Chopra received major backlash for their lavish wedding. Parineeti used the show's stage to address these comments and said that people would not have had these issues if her husband was not a politician but an actor, producer or entrepreneur. She further added that because of her husband's profession, people suddenly assumed that he alone bore the expenses of the wedding. She shared:
"Mujhe lagta hai sab perception ki baat bhi hai. Mai actress hu agar maine ek actor, producer, businessman, se shaadi kari hoti people toh wo boltey, 'Wah yaar, ye actress ki badi shaandaar shaadi hui hai. Aaise hi honi chahiye.' Matlab maine itney saal mehnat kisliye ki hai? Ishiliye ki thi. Par ek neta se shaadi hui hai isiliye saara narrative suddenly became ki unhoney saare kharchey karey"
