Late actress, Parveen Babi was one of the most glamorous faces of Bollywood in her time. Not only that, with her enigmatic performances and sartorial fashion sense, she also managed to catch the attention of Time Magazine. Coming to her professional life, she has worked in various hit movies like Amar Akbar Anthony, Shaan, Do Aur Do Panch and many more. Moreover, her style of modernity and everything Bohemian was something that is still followed.
However, in her personal life, Parveen Babi had gone through a disturbing phase of numerous alleged linkups with her co-stars like Mahesh Bhatt, Kabir Bedi and Danny Denzongpa. Moreover, she was diagnosed with an incurable genetic disorder, schizophrenia. Following this, she had closed all her doors to the outer world and used to stay alone in her Juhu flat. It was on January 23, 2005, only when her neighbours noticed that she hadn't collected the newspapers and milk. Afterwards, everyone came to know that the actress had left for the heavenly abode.

Now, a source close to ETimes revealed to the portal that even after 17 years of Parveen Babi's death, her Juhu beach-facing flat is still deserted. For the unversed, Parveen lived the last days of her life in this terraced flat located on the 7th floor of the Riviera Building in Juhu, Mumbai. The source added that the brokers are trying to sell it at Rs. 15 crores or rent it out at a huge monthly cost of Rs. 4 lakhs. The source said:
"The flat is not only up for sale but rent as well. It is being quoted at Rs 15 crore for outright purchase/ a monthly rent of Rs 4 lakh. A lot of work is going on in the flat, it seems. Apparently, the flat is being spruced up."
In the same conversation, the source was asked about a tenant named Agarwal, who was living there in 2014, and was asked to evict the house with his family soon after being accused of using it for commercial purposes. Talking about the same, the source mentioned the weird kinds of reasons for which takers are fearing and revealed:
"People who come there to see the flat are either unaware that they are being brought up to Parveen Babi's flat or they feel sort of weird when they realise it there. It is really strange that such thoughts should cross people's minds as Parveen Babi died a natural death, owing to acute schizophrenia followed by multiple organ failure. Perhaps the thought that she was found four days after her death in the Riviera flat has made the people feel uncomfortable with the idea of moving into it."

For the uninitiated, the building's lobby read the name of the late actress, whereas the flat's door was mentioned with a label written on it as "Parveen Babi's Charitable Trust." And when the same was asked to Advocate, Ameet Mehta in an interview with ETimes, he mentioned that an interested client accompanied him about two weeks ago. However, who would hand over the title of the flat to the buyer is unclear. He said:
"It is not clear who is going to allocate the title of the flat to the buyer."
Well, what do you think about the reason given by takers valid in the 21st century? Let us know!
