After 13 days of his bail, Pearl V Puri has finally released an official statement on his alleged rape and molestation case. He mentioned about becoming an overnight victim and feeling helpless!
It was on June 4, 2021, when Pearl V Puri was arrested under the allegations of rape and molestation. The news of his arrest had shocked the nation and his fans as everyone had come out in open in his support. With each passing day, new theories were coming out as the alleged victim’s father was making startling statements.

Pearl V Puri was in judicial custody for 11 days and was granted bail by the Vasai court on June 15, 2021. In a conversation with ETimes TV, Pearl’s lawyer, Rajeev Sawant had confirmed the news of his bail. The lawyer had first applied for bail on June 7, 2021, however, the hearing was postponed earlier.
Now, after a wait of 13 days, Pearl V Puri has made an official statement, mentioning how everything had made him feel helpless. His statement can be read as “Life has its own way of testing people! I lost my nani ma a few months back, then on her 17th day I lost my dad post that my mother got diagnosed with cancer and then this ghastly accusation. Last couple of weeks were grueling for me like a nightmare.”
Pearl also mentioned how he became a criminal overnight. He added, “I was , overnight, made to feel like a criminal. All of this in the midst of my mother’s cancer treatment, it shattered my sense of security, making me feel helpless. I am still numb …. But I felt it’s time to reach out to my friends, fans and well-wishers who’ve showered me with their love, support and concern.”
Pearl concluded his note, saying that he believes in the law and judiciary of our country. He ended his statement with “Thank you for keeping faith in me and I am a firm believer of #Satyamevjayate. I trust in the Law, judiciary of my country & God up there. Please keep your duas coming!” He captioned his post as “I feel blessed to have each one of y’all thankyou for being my biggest strength #teampvp.”

For the unversed, a report by ANI had stated that Pearl V Puri was arrested under Section 376 of the IPC & POCSO Act. The Mumbai Police was quoted as saying, “Television actor, Pearl Puri has been arrested by Waliv and Mumbai police. He was arrested in connection with the rape of a minor. A case has been registered under Section 376 of IPC & POCSO Act."
After Pearl’s bail, the minor’s mother, Ekta Sharma, whose name was revealed by Divya Khosla Kumar, was granted interim relief by the court. According to a report in ETimes, the lawyer of the minor’s mother, Swapna Kode had mentioned that in the report, her client was accused in the POSCO case and thus, she had approached the court. The lawyer had said, “My client has been granted interim relief by the Hon’ble Sessions Court till 2/7. My client has been made an accused in the Pocso case and hence she has approached the court.''
