Alaya Furniturewalla had made a permanent place in our hearts with her effortless performance in her debut film, Jawaani Jaaneman. Hailing from a star family, Alaya had maintained her distance from the media and it was just before her debut, we got to know about this stunning daughter of Pooja Bedi. But as soon as she signed her debut film, her personal life became a hot topic of discussion for her fans.

A few weeks before Alaya’s debut, reports of her dating the grandson of late Bal Thackeray, Aaishvary Thackeray, had started doing the rounds. Alaya is not only rumoured to be dating Aaishvary but is also said to have a great bond with his mother, Smita Thackeray. On August 17, 2020, Smita Thackeray had posted a collage of pictures with her son, Aaishvary Thackeray, in which one had a bouquet of flowers sent by Rahul Thackeray and the other one was a hugging picture with Alaya Furniturewalla. Revealing how she had spent her birthday with her close ones, Smita had captioned the post as “Wonderful evening with close ones to bring in my birthday @aaishvarythackeray @alaya.f @rhia1596 @rahul.thackeray@Aditi Thackeray.”
In an interview with The Times of India, Alaya’s mother, Pooja Bedi talked about her daughter’s dating rumours. Revealing how things are different from her time, Pooja said, “In my time, things were so different! You had to be boyfriend-free, a virgin, and unmarried. Today, every single human is entitled to have a personal life.”
Pooja also gave Kareena Kapoor Khan's example and how she has been doing a splendid job even after her marriage. Talking about the same, Pooja stated, “Kareena Kapoor Khan is doing well even after marriage. So, I would say, there’s been a sea change in the industry and it has happened because the mentality of the audience has changed dramatically, thanks to social media.”
In an interview with ETimes, Alaya Furniturewalla had reacted to the rumours of her relationship with Aaishvary Thackeray. The actress had refuted the speculations and had retorted, “He is a very good friend. I know it is a cliche thing to say, but we are very good family friends. Our moms know each other, my grandad knows his mom, we have known each other for a very long time. It’s just now that the media notices a photo of us together and assumes that something is going on. We have been doing acting classes for a very long time, and also go to dance classes together; if the paparazzi had clicked us earlier, they would have a lot more pictures (laughs). That’s why we are bound to click together; I find him to be quite funny.”

When probed further to comment on how she feels as her dating speculations with Aaishvary Thackeray is her first link-up rumour in the media, Alaya Furniturewalla had said, “It’s not like I expect it. The paparazzi get photos so I know what’s going to happen with it. But I also make a joke out of it. Now, if I’m exiting a place, we have to exit together, and there are bunch of photographers who ask us to pose together and I politely refuse laughing over the fact that those pictures can land me in a lot of trouble later."
