Pooja Bhatt Recalls Ending Her 11-Year-Old Marriage On 'Bigg Boss OTT 2': 'It Felt Like Death'

Pooja Bhatt recalled the reason for ending her 11-year-old marriage with Manish Makhija and getting addicted to alcohol. She called it the lowest phase of her life.

Pooja Bhatt is showing off her entirely different personality on the reality show, Bigg Boss OTT 2. While we all know Pooja as a fierce lady, in the latest episode of the reality show, she revealed an emotional side. She revealed the reason behind her parting ways with Manish Makhija after eleven years of marital bliss. She recalled the time and called it the lowest phase. Pooja Bhatt also opened up about how she drowned herself in alcoholism right after it.

Pooja Bhatt recalled the decision to end her eleven-year-old marriage, despite having an amazing partner

In the latest episode of Bigg Boss OTT 2, Pooja Bhatt was seen talking to Jiya Shankar and told her about the lowest phase of her life. She revealed that it was her divorce from Manish Makhija. Pooja added that it was entirely her decision as she didn't felt continuing the marriage. Pooja also revealed that she wanted to live her life on her own terms and that's why she ended her relationship.

Pooja added that her ex-husband, Manish Makhija wasn't a bad person, but she just wanted to find herself, which she had lost in the relationship. She was quoted as saying:

"I said that I wanted to live my life with comfort or keep my 10 to 11-years--old relationship, and my husband was not a bad person. Everything that was there between us was there. But then I thought that I had lost myself and it was not for somebody else or the betterment of life."

Pooja Bhatt accepted she drowned herself in alcoholism right after it

Pooja further revealed that ending the marriage was her decision, but breaking an 11-year-old relationship felt like death. In front of the world, she had put up a brave face, but from inside she wasn't feeling right, and that's when she hid her pain with alcohol. She said:

"I wanted myself back but what did I do after that to hide my pain when it’s an 11-year-old relationship? It was called off suddenly and it felt like death but people ask if you are ok and people prefer you say so. And later you go and hide behind alcohol because the bottle delivers. Then I thought that I wanted to set myself free and find myself but I drilled myself more into bad zone."

When Pooja Bhatt and Manish Makhija parted ways after eleven years of marriage

Pooja Bhatt and Manish Makhija had married on August 24, 2003, in a grand wedding ceremony in Goa. The duo had lived together for eleven years, but in 2014, they parted ways. The actress had taken to her Twitter handle and announced her separation news. She tweeted:

"To all those who care & especially those that don’t my husband Munna & Me have decided to part ways after 11 glorious years of marriage. Our split as some might call it is amicable & we hold each other in the highest esteem for now and forever. The reason I explain is because we are both part of the public domain. 

Pooja and Manish have parted ways, but they are not divorced yet

Pooja and Manish announced their separation in 2014, but they are not yet divorced officially. It was Manish's second marriage and rumours are that he currently lives with his son from his first wife. Pooja and Manish didn't have any children from their marriage. The ex-couple stayed away from the media limelight.
