In one of the previous episodes of BB OTT 2, Pooja Bhatt opened up on her personal life during a heart-to-heart conversation with co-contestant, Abhishek Malhan. Pooja turned emotional when she heard all the other contestants speaking fondly about their family members, who must have surely missed them all this while. To this, Pooja highlighted how she was a single woman through and through and that there was no one waiting for her back home. In her words:
“Hum sab apne family ko miss kar rahen hain, aur hum sabka koi na koi bahar wait kar raha hai, but main single aurat hoon aur mera koi nahi hai ghar chalane ke liye."
For the unversed, Pooja was previously married to Manish Makhija before calling it quits 11 years later. In an earlier interview with ETimes, Pooja bared her heart out about her broken wedding and mentioned how it had been like a dress rehearsal, a one-time thing that changed her life completely. She also emphasised how it made her become more alert before continuing in any relationship thereafter.
In one of the episodes of the BB OTT 2, Pooja Bhatt had recalled one of the toughest phases of her life. In the same conversation, Pooja also pulled out societal bias against women who openly come out discussing their addictions. She added how women are told to hush and hide such things from the world, since people will end up judging them. In her words:
“Society gives a license to men and thus they can openly speak about being addicted and recovering from alcoholism. However, women don't openly drink and so they don't openly recover. I used to drink openly so when I thought of recovering from alcoholism I realised that why should I recover in the closet? People used to call me an alcoholic but then I said I'm a recovering alcoholic."
