The best feeling for madly-in-love couples is when they take their relationship to the next level. And when it is related to any celebrity, then it makes it ecstatic for their fans as well. Celeb, relationships, engagement and weddings take the internet by the storm. Another Bollywood hunk has been struck by the cupid.
We are talking about yesteryear acclaimed actress, Smita Patil and superstar actor, Raj Babbar’s son Prateik Babbar. This 31-year-old actor got engaged on January 22, 2018, at his fiancée Sanya Sagar’s farmhouse in Lucknow. Prateik and Sanya have known each other for eight long years. Posting about his engagement on his official Instagram account, Prateik captioned his picture with Sanya, “#monday.. holy snappp!.. that just happened!". To which Sanya (who is by the name of 'pynkmoss' on Instagram) replied, “Yus baby” with a heart emoticon.
Writer-director-editor Sanya is also known for her culinary skills. She had arranged for a seven-course Lucknowi meal at her engagement, which included rajma, Prateik’s favourite dish. Prateik proposed to the love of his life in December during a music festival in Goa. Prateik got candid about his engagement to Mumbai Mirror and said, “Sanya and I, along with our families, decided that something as pure as love should be solemnised on an auspicious day and what better day than Basant Panchami. She’s the best partner I could have asked for. It didn’t take me long to figure out that she was the one for me. I know it sounds clichéd, but I can’t stop counting my blessings and thanking God for all the good that is happening in my life.”
Soon-to-be-married Prateik and Sanya are yet to decide on their wedding date. But they are planning to host three separate functions in New Delhi, Lucknow and Mumbai after the nuptials, for their industry well-wishers and friends. Groom-to-be further talked about the type of wedding he wants to have and said, “But we want to enjoy this courtship period for a year or two; Sanya will shuttle between Mumbai and Lucknow. We haven’t thought about the wedding yet, but if I had my way, I would love a beach wedding or a simple temple wedding.”
He admitted that this is the beginning of a new chapter of their lives and marriage won’t change anything. He stated, “I’ve been mentally ready for marriage for a while now as I believe it gives a relationship substance. Nothing will change, life will only get even more beautiful.” On collaborating with his would-be-wife someday, Prateik said, “It is on our minds. It will be great to be a creatively in sync couple.”
He reminisced about his late-mother Smita Patil and said that she would have had been the happiest person if she was around. He said, “I constantly feel her presence, she is my guardian angel and guiding force.”
On the professional front, Prateik will be next seen in Ahmed Khan’s Baaghi 2 with Tiger Shroff and Anubhav Sinha’s Taapsee Pannu starrer Mulk. About his plans of getting into rajneeti like his father, he retorted, “Not in the near future but who knows what tomorrow brings. I am not a diplomatic person so politics seems a little farfetched for me right now. I want to give my 200 percent to films.”
