Pratyusha Banerjee's Parents Are Fighting To Get Justice, Even After 6 Years Of 'Anandi's' Demise

'Balika Vadhu' actress, Pratyusha Banerjee would've turned 31 today, on August 10, 2022. However, even after six years of her demise, her parents are still fighting to get justice for their daughter.

Popular television actress, Pratyusha Banerjee, who was best known for her role as Anandi in the iconic daily soap, Balika Vadhu had passed away on April 1, 2016, allegedly due to suicide. The then 24-year-old actress was reportedly found dead and hanging in her Oshiwara apartment, Mumbai. Her suicide had brought up many conspiracy theories and put a lot of allegations on her then-boyfriend, Rahul Raj. Not only this, but many common friends of the couple had also claimed that Rahul was violent with Pratyusha.

For the unversed, Pratyusha Banerjee's last post on social media was on October 26, 2015. The actress had shared a cutesy picture with her then-boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh, before entering the show, Power Couple. Along with the cosy picture, she had penned a note informing her massive fanbase that she and Rahul would participate in the show, which had excited their massive fanbase back then. Her note could be read as:

"Last pic before we enter the power couple house... Wont be uploading pics for a very long time ... So wish me n rahul luck n miss us.. Lots of Love to all our friends… Ll miss u all tooooooo…May the best couple win."

If reports are to be believed, Pratyusha Banerjee's parents, Soma Banerjee and Shankar Banerjee are still fighting to get justice for their daughter. A few months back, in an interview with SpotboyE.com, Pratyusha's boyfriend, Rahul Raj had admitted that he is waiting for the day when the court will give him a clear chit in Pratyusha's suicide case. However, the case is reportedly still active in court, and the doting parents are doing everything they can to push the judiciary to a sound and final verdict in their daughter's death case.

During the course of the last six years, Pratyusha's parents slumped into a lot of financial burdens as they've taken numerous loans to keep their legal fight on in court. Once in an interview with Aaj Tak, Pratyusha's father, Shankar Banerjee had talked about the way he and his wife, Soma Banerjee are living in a single-room house after they've spent everything in their legal battle. Reflecting more on the expenses and how hard it has become for them to continue their fight to get their daughter the justice she deserves, Shankar Banerjee had said:

"We are now forced to live in one room. This case took away everything from us. Many times, there has been a situation where we were forced to take loans."

Going further in his conversation with Aaj Tak, Pratyusha Banerjee's father, Shankar Banerjee had also revealed that he is writing stories and his wife, Soma Banerjee is working at a child care centre. The father had admitted that everything they had earned has been spent on their daughter's case, and to keep their battle active, they needed to work at this old age when people usually retire. However, despite all the hardships, Pratyusha's doting father had clearly stated that he and his wife would not rest until the court give justice to their daughter. He had stated:

"After this accident, it seems as if some terrible storm has come and has taken everything away from us. We did not have a single penny left with us. We have lost everything while fighting in the second case."

No matter what, Pratyusha Banerjee will live in our hearts rent-free till the end of time!
