Deepika Padukone shared a sneak peek into her pregnancy diet and revealed that she loves to eat well rather than following fad diets.
Deepika Padukone is in the third trimester of her pregnancy and is counting the days to embrace motherhood for the first time. The actress, who is due in September, has been updating her fans and followers with her pregnancy journey. Deepika is well known for her fitness regime and is an advocate of a healthy lifestyle. Now, she gave her fans a sneak peek into her diet.
On July 17, 2024, Deepika Padukone took to her IG handle and shared a collage of three pictures showing delicious food items. The actress penned a long note and mentioned that people might be surprised to see desserts and snacks on her feed as they believe she doesn't eat well. Asking her fans not to believe anything else they might hear or read, Deepika revealed the trick behind her diet. She penned:
"Surprised to see this on my feed? Well, I eat! And I eat well! Ask anyone who knows me. So don’t believe anything else you might hear or read. The trick? Balance, Consistency and Listening to YOUR Body. There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding around the word ‘Diet’. We often believe that ‘Diet’ means to starve, to eat less and to eat all of the things we detest."

Further in her long note, Deepika mentioned that the real meaning of diet is all the food and drink consumed by an individual altogether. The word 'diet' comes from the Greek word 'diaita', which translates to way of life. Revealing that she has always followed a balanced diet rather than indulging in fad diets, the mommy-to-be penned:
"I’ve always, for as long as I can remember, followed a ‘Balanced Diet’. And it is for me ‘a way of life’. I’ve never followed a diet that I cannot be consistent with or one that is a fad. Now, do I indulge? Of course, I do, as demonstrated above! But it most certainly isn’t my way of life. Ever heard the phrase ‘you are what you eat?’ If there’s one thing I’ve learnt (the hard-ish way) is that those words couldn’t be truer."
Recently, Deepika Padukone attended Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding in Mumbai. The actress opted for a regal Torani ensemble and looked flawless. She adorably flaunted her baby bump in her anarkali, which she styled with a matching dupatta. She completed her look with an antique choker, glam makeup, and a gajra-adorned hairdo. Ranveer, on the other hand, looked dapper in a traditional black ensemble. He was fondly caressing Deepika's baby bump in one of the pictures from the bash.

Being a fitness enthusiast, Deepika Padukone has been trying her best to stay fit and has kickstarted her prenatal yoga journey. On July 3, 2024, the mommy-to-be took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture of herself lying on a mat with her leg up the wall. She flaunted her baby bump in a fitted black-hued tank top and matching trousers. Deepika was seen doing Viparita Karani Aasan, which helps relieve aching muscles, joints, and swollen ankles and feet in pregnant women. Deepika also penned a note on prenatal yoga and wrote:
"I love a good workout. I don’t work out to ‘look good’ but to ‘feel fit’. Exercise has been part of my lifestyle for as long as I can remember. However, when I can’t fit in a workout, I practice this simple 5-minute routine. I do this every day, whether I work out or not. It’s especially useful after a long flight or just to decompress."
