Popular actress, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary opened up about getting body-shamed for underweight and revealed how it affected her confidence.
Priyanka Chahar Choudhary is one of the most stunning actresses in the television industry. The gorgeousness never leaves a chance to mesmerise her fans with her amazing acting skills and impeccable style statements. The diva has proven her mettle in acting by working in serials like Udaariyan, Swapnodana, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Gathbandhan and many more. Moreover, she has even participated in the controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 16 and emerged as the second runner-up.
In an interview with ETimes, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary opened up about her early days, struggles and much more. When asked about facing body shaming while growing up, the actress revealed that she was body-shamed for being underweight. Priyanka mentioned that she got body-shamed even in the Bigg Boss house. Adding that everyone has their own choice to do body exercise, the actress said:
"Yes, I have faced body shaming, in fact, it happened in the Bigg Boss house as well. Now, there is an awareness about it but people still body shame others for being overweight or underweight. I was shamed for being underweight. I feel after 25 everyone's body needs exercise. It's not always that you are working out to be healthy physically. Everyone has their own choice as to why they want to do it."

In the same interview, Priyanka revealed how the constant body-shaming affected her. Mentioning that she lost confidence, the actress added that initially, she would feel awkward sitting socially. Priyanka also said that when she was anchoring, people used to pass comments on her figure and called her 'bacchi'. Elaborating more on it, she stated:
"When I was shamed for being underweight, I lost confidence. It affected me initially but I am very stubborn as I said I don't feel bad about things easily. But initially, it did affect me and I would feel awkward sitting socially. Back then, when I was anchoring they would pass comments like 'arre ye toh choti si bacchi hai patli si, dubli si..' I used to feel but you see how I'm doing my job or how good I'm at it, and how my voice is. Bachpana that tab toh it would affect me but now I don't let it affect me."
Further, Priyanka opened up about her initial years in Mumbai. Talking about the same, she stated that from the very beginning, she was clear that she would not misuse her freedom. Adding that she never lost her ground, Priyanka said that her focus was very clear. Further, the actress also talked about facing rejection and said that she is prepared for all the failures.

Reports about Ankit Gupta and Priyanka's relationship have been rife in the media ever since they started working on the serial, Udaariyan. However, the duo have always maintained the "just friends" stance. Earlier, during his stint in Bigg Boss 16, Ankita had talked about his relationship with Priyanka and mentioned that nothing much could be expected between them as they both want different things in life. Elaborating more on it, he said:
"We both are very clear and sorted. She wants a future, but I am very clear that I don't want it at all."
