It was on the last week of February 2019, hardly two months after Priyanka Chopra became Mrs Jonas, she shared pictures from her little brother, Siddharth Chopra and Ishita Kumar’s roka ceremony. With heartfelt welcome messages and gifts from herself and beau, Nick Jonas, we couldn’t wait for pictures from their do! When we were expecting pictures from their wedding pictures to flood our timelines, two pictures from Ishita Kumar’s account from a hospital indicated a postponed wedding. Only later was it confirmed that the wedding has actually been called off.

The words in the post can be read as “Men no longer give us butterflies… Straight high blood pressure now.” And in no time, netizens realised to whom this post was meant for and many agreed with her too. Referring to ‘sweet beginnings’ in her life, Ishita Kumar had taken to Instagram and posting an all-happy picture of herself, sipping a drink, had written, “Cheers to new beginnings. With a goodbye kiss to beautiful endings.” While this cryptic caption had provided all possible evidence about their cancelled wedding, Ishita’s parents’, Nidhi Kumar and Anirudh Kumar’s comments on her post definitely added to the fire. On Mother’s Day 2019, Ishita Kumar had taken to Instagram and posted a heartfelt note for her mother, thanking her for being there in all the trying times. She had written, “Happy Mother's day Mom You've always been so strong and supported me in all my decisions, Specially in the past 1 month Always grateful for your blessings and support.” To which, her doting mommy had replied, “I will always be there for you.. To support you n help you in moments of distress n take you out of trouble.. Unconditionally.”
For the uninitiated, Ishita Kumar was the second lady that Siddharth Chopra had gotten rokafied to. In 2014, Siddharth had an intimate roka ceremony with another lady named, Kanika Mathur. And what looks like it, fate had almost the same plans for Ishita and Kanika as both the ladies had gotten rokafied to Siddharth, which later didn’t work out. As the both had sailed on the same boat, the duo became each other’s Insta-buddies in the process! It was long after speculations were slowly converting to confirmations that Siddharth Chopra and Ishita Kumar’s wedding has been called off, when the former’s mother, Dr Madhu Chopra had finally confirmed the same. In an interview with SpotBoyE, the star mommy had shared, “My son Siddharth said he was not ready for marriage yet. He explained he needed more time."
