Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas became mister and missus in December 2018. For the first time ever, Priyanka shared that there were cultural differences that cropped up after their wedding.
International actress, singer, Indian film producer and the winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant, Priyanka Chopra found the love of her life in an American singer, songwriter and actor, Nick Jonas. They met, instantly clicked and soon decided on to spend the rest of the life with each other. It was in July 2018 that Nick had proposed his ladylove, Priyanka and she had obviously said “yes”. Soon after, on August 18, 2018, the couple made it official on their respective social media handles after their traditional roka ceremony.
Four months down the lane, on December 1-2, 2018, Priyanka and Nick officially became Nickyanka as they took the saat pheras in the presence of their friends and families. The lovebirds had a royal destination wedding in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Ever since, the two keep talking about each other and life post-wedding. In a heart-to-heart conversation with an American magazine, InStyle, she had shared that there were no issues initially, "little things started popping up" post-marriage. Here’s what she shared, "So it wasn't hard initially, but later after we got married, little things started popping up. He'd sometimes say to me, 'It's okay. It's all good. Everything will be fine.' And I am like, 'But I am not mad?' And he's like, 'But you sound like you're mad.' And I'm like, 'No! I'm just being emphatic and talking'. And he's like, 'Whoa!' And I'm just like 'Everyone speaks with their hands, and we are such a large population, we have to speak over each other to be heard you know. Now he gets it. He tells his friends, 'She's just being passionate and emphatic'.”
In the same interview, PeeCee also shared that Nick loves to hear Bollywood music, "Listening to Bollywood music has become his hype music before a concert. It's really funny. I went to the Jonas Brothers concert and I walk into the dressing room and I was like, 'Wait, what?' And he's like, 'Yeah, babe, it's my hype music!' I was like, 'I have created a monster, it's great.' It's amazing how he embraces it.” (Also Read: Tony Kakkar Wishes His 'Star' Sister Neha Kakkar On Her 31st Birthday, Calls Her Special Than Coffee)
Priyanka also remarked that she wants to change the world a little bit and said, "I want to change the world a little bit. My big endgame is creating a formidable career and legacy for myself, but at the same time I want to have moved something. I want my existence to have meant something. I want my kids to turn around and be like, 'Yeah, that was my mom.'"
Priyanka and Nick have become prey to trolls on social media. In a recent interview with the Sunday Times, PeeCee had opened up about the same and had said, “Just because I'm famous, don't I have the ability to be proud of being a newlywed without people saying that I'm using my marriage? I gave up my right to privacy when I became a public person, it's the deal you make with the devil. But trust me, there are lots of things I still keep personal.” (Checkout: Sania Mirza's Baby Boy, Izhaan Mirza Malik Is All Smiles As He Celebrates His First Eid)
Not just this, she also reacted on being labelled as a “global scam artist” which suggested that Priyanka’s motive behind getting married to Nick was to help her career. The desi girl of Bollywood had stated, “I didn't comment on it at the time. But I went up to the hotel room to find Nick, Joe, Sophie Turner and my mum furiously responding to the article on their phones. They were like, 'These b*******! How dare they?' I thought, 'I'm having a great moment, nothing is going to burst my bubble'.”
Sometime back, Nick had talked about his love story with Priyanka and had quipped, “We met through a friend. We got connected first over text and we started talking for a while. It was about six months before we met up in person. We actually attended the MET Gala, a few years ago together and had a great time. We were just friends and our lives were taking us to different places.”
In an interaction with E! News, Nick got candid about having kids with Priyanka and how he sees future with her. The handsome singing star was quoted as saying, "I think that in everything we do, you know, my brothers and I, Priyanka and I, everything we do we think about the future. And building something that becomes a part of a legacy in some way, and a story we can share with our kids in the future." Also, the 26-year-old had once stated, “I definitely want to be a father someday. I think that’s a real dream, and I think I have had to grow up real quick. With that, you could look at it two ways, you could say that was unfair, or you could say it has given me some real perspective at an early age. And I have seen a lot of life at an early age and I hope to be able to share that with a kid of my own someday.”
