Priyanka Chopra Jonas Gets Emotional On Her Late Father’s Birthday, Writes,'I Wish You Were Here'

Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared a beautiful bond with her late father, Ashok Chopra. On his birthday, she penned down an emotional note for him.

Every daughter shares an emotional bond with her father and always remains his little girl. Priyanka Chopra Jonas is no exception! Daddy's little girl Priyanka was very close to her father. Priyanka has always been open about one relationship in her life and that’s her bond with her late father, Ashok Chopra, who passed away at the age of 64 in 2013 after a long battle with cancer.

You never actually move on from the loss of losing a loved one. Time does heal some wounds, but the void in your heart is never really filled. Yesterday, August 23, 2019, was Ashok ji's birth anniversary. The Padmavaat actress took to her Instagram handle to share an emotional post on the occasion. The picture shows her father smiling while a song 'Dil Aur Mohhabbat Kaha Se Layi' plays in the background. Her father loved to sing and so does Priyanka. Sharing a picture, she wrote, “Every year on this day Sid and I would look for ways to surprise you... but we never managed to do so! You always knew everything... So I hope wherever you are, You know that you are with us everyday. In everything I do, I think about your encouragement... In every choice I make, I ask for your affirmation... In everything that happens to me, I am grateful for your blessings. Happy Birthday Dad. I wish you were here everyday! We love you. @siddharthchopra89 @madhumalati P.S. - the background song was one of dad’s favourites... one he always used to sing for mom.”  

Priyanka had earlier taken to her Instagram to post an adorable throwback picture, remembering her late father, Dr Ashok Chopra on Father's Day. She had posted the picture and captioned it as “Father’s Day on moms birthday.. it’s almost like dad is here celebrating with us. Don’t need a day to miss and appreciate you dad. I love you. #HappyFathersDay #daddyslilgirl for life."

Priyanka's husband Nick Jonas had made a sweet gesture as he had posted the same throwback picture of Priyanka Chopra Jonas with her father, thanking him for 'bringing such an incredible woman into this world'. He had also posted a throwback picture of himself with his father Papa Kevin Jonas. He had written, "Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there. I hope to be half the father you are dad. I love you very much... and I so wish I could have had the chance to get to know you Ashok sir. The actress has often talked about her love for her dad and how difficult it was for her to cope with such a huge loss.  his loss. She even has a tattoo with the words ‘Daddy’s lil girl’ written on her forearm in her father’s handwriting.

On June 10, 2019, Priyanka had posted a childhood picture of herself with her dad on his sixth death anniversary. Priyanka had captioned the picture as "6 years. Seems like just yesterday we lost you.. I miss you Dad. Inexplicably." Right after Priyanka's emotional post, her father-in-law, Papa Kevin Jonas, had dropped the sweetest comment. He had written, "All our love sweet Daughter-in-Law. In an earlier interview with the Hindustan Times, the actress had remembered her father and had said, “His death has been a big blow. I still haven’t dealt with it. I don’t know if I’ve healed, but it doesn’t hurt either. I don’t think I have accepted it. I feel like I’m travelling all over the world, and dad will be home when I return. I think grief becomes your constant companion. You just learn to live with it.”
