In an exclusive chit chat with Bollywoodshaadis.com, Jasleen talked in detail about the creative thought process that goes behind designing bridal attires. She mentioned that she designs a unique look for every individual bride. In her words, "I want my brides to wear unique and never-seen-before ensembles, something that is authentic and original. "Be different. Be Original. Be you" - is my mantra. I develop a relationship with them, talk to them and know about their personalities, their likes and what is it that they feel inclined towards; any art form, any experience, memories or adventures they want to immortalise with their bridal outfit."

Further, Jasleen explained the intricate details of her beautiful wedding outfit patterns and mentioned that her wedding suit took two months to be traced on paper and four months for the kaarigars to complete it. She said, "I opted for a Punjabi Suit ( I am inspired by my mother’s wedding outfit the most; she wore a suit too) but I definitely wanted to give it a contemporary touch. Embroidered with real pearls, turquoise stones and some precious gemstones that I sourced myself from different places. I thought of depicting “Garden of Eden” from heaven, which would have paradisiacal imagery, symbolising a union of two souls happening in the presence of godly elements - birds, peacocks, flamingos, Trees of Life, lotus ponds, swans, dancing girls, tiara-clad deers, fountains, mountains, sun and much more. It’s almost like a carnival happening on the outfit and the entire flora and fauna is rejoicing with us as we take four sikh ‘Laavans’ around Guru Granth Sahib."

Jasleen further explained how she used a dupatta worn by her mom at her wedding and said, "I went for two dupattas to pair with the suit. One of the dupattas is closest to me as my mother wore it on her wedding too. Other one is a flare dupatta embroidered with an image of me and my husband sitting in front of Guru Granth Sahib and ready to take Laavans." Jasleen also revealed that her husband's outfit was also designed by her. Throwing some light on the same, she said, "My Husband’s wedding outfit was also designed and styled by me. I extended the same design on his Sherwani, wherein a bird and Tree of Life are shown."

Revealing the inspiration for her haldi outfit, Jasleen said, "I went for an aquamarine coloured Lehenga and depicted my love for marine life. I gave it a mythical touch with the mermaids sitting on the sea bed amidst sea horses, conches, seashells, school of fishes and aquatic plants. Paired it with a corset and self-designed silver shell jewellery. I again drew the jewellery pieces and sent it to the Karigars(India Stop) in Ahmedabad who did a super amazing job. I made the hairpieces by myself from the antiques I collected from my travels."

Being a designer, who has made numerous brides diligently happy on the biggest day of their lives, Jasleen talked about how she managed to keep her own bridal outfit distinct from that of her clients. She said, "I work with stories and make an outfit as if it were mine. The only way, however, my outfit was different is that I wore a Punjabi Salwar Suit instead of a Lehenga. But after it went viral, a lot of clients are coming to me and say they want to wear a salwar suit. I do predict it's going to be a trend in Punjabi brides in coming days."

Lastly, Jasleen opened up about the overwhelming feeling she had when she saw herself in her bridal attire for the first time. She said, "I felt "myself", that's what I feel most brides don't. They don't relate themselves to their bridal look, they feel "dressy" and "not themselves". I felt just as I always wanted to feel on my wedding day and I didn't want to put the dress off at the end of the day."
