The date, 'September 8, 2022', will forever be remembered as one of the darkest days in the history of Britain. Queen Elizabeth II passed away on this day at her iconic Balmoral Castle. Queen Elizabeth was 96 years of age, and the news of her demise moved entire Britain to a standstill. After ruling on the throne for 70 years, Elizabeth II bid farewell and went to her heavenly abode. When the news of Elizabeth II's demise broke on the internet for the first time, many people rubbished it as a hoax. As these sorts of fake death news nuisances are quite common in the world of the internet.

However, to everyone's disappointment, when it was revealed in the news that the members of the royal family had rushed to be with Queen Elizabeth II after her health had deteriorated, people started panicking about their queen's health. Moreover, everyone's hopes turned into dust when King Charles, the eldest son of the queen had issued a heartbreaking statement in the media in which he had confirmed the demise of his mother, and it could be read as:

Earlier this year, on July 21, 2022, the official Instagram handle of The Royal Family shared a series of throwback pictures of Queen Elizabeth II from her timeline. The first picture was a monochrome photo from the time when Princess Elizabeth II was promoted to the Queen of Britain. Moving on to the second picture, it was the 300-diamond-studded platinum necklace which she had worn throughout her reign. Finally, the third picture was from recent years, as Elizabeth II looked old and could be seen donning the same precious necklace.

Queen Elizabeth II looked gorgeous in this rare necklace that simply looked out of this world. In the caption of these pictures, it was mentioned that the necklace was given to Elizabeth II as a gift from the Nizam of Hyderabad, Asaf Jah II, on the special occasion of her wedding with Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh. "The necklace was given to then Princess Elizabeth as a wedding present in 1947 from the Nizam (ruler) of Hyderabad. The Nizam left instructions with the firm of Cartier in London that Princess Elizabeth should select a wedding gift herself, and this platinum necklace set with approximately 300 diamonds was chosen. Her Majesty has continued to wear the necklace throughout her reign and has also loaned it to The Duchess of Cambridge."

For the unversed, Asaf Jah VII had gifted the diamond-studded necklace to Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present in 1947, before independence. Asaf Jah VII was one of the richest people in Hyderabad and which is why he had told Queen Elizabeth II to pick any jewellery that she liked, and it would be hers immediately. Such was the level of his richness. Not only this, but Asaf Jah VII also gifted three floral diamond brooches, which were detachable, whose design was inspired by the English roses.

Asaf Jah VII gifted all these things to Queen Elizabeth II, the entire country was under British colonial rule. Even to this very day, many people find Asaf's sweet gesture a bit controversial and unnecessary considering the scenario between the two countries back in 1947.
