We all know that the first thing that wedding guests notice is the way the bride looks. Every slight imperfection is noted, cataloged and then discussed at length by numerous Aunties who also have daughters of marriageable age. Besides, haven’t you ever done the same thing when you attend a wedding?
On the day of the wedding ceremony, the hustle and bustle will reach epic proportions. Besides, I am sure that you have heard of Murphy’s Law: Everything that can go wrong, will go wrong. So what if you end up with a beauty emergency that you have to fix as fast as possible?
Not to worry, Team BollywoodShaadis.com is here to the rescue. We have compiled a list of beauty emergencies that brides to be commonly face, and also mentioned ways to handle them.
Broken Nails/ Chipped Nail polish
First and foremost, if you are getting your nails done at a professional salon or by a bona fide manicurist, ensure that he/ she uses a shade of nail polish that you already have. That way, you can do any last minute touch ups yourself if your nail polish chips off.
To handle broken nails, I suggest keeping a nail file or nail cutter handy. In case you don’t happen to have one about you on your wedding day, you can always use the rough sides of a matchbox as a makeshift nail file to fix your broken nail.
Fix your eye make up
Getting married is a tiring business. Droopy eyelids and dark circles from sleepless nights, not to mention ruined eye make up due to tears, is pretty much common for every bride.
My suggestion: ensure that your stylist uses waterproof eye makeup. That way, you don’t have to worry about mascara running down your face if you start weeping. But just in case your make up does get ruined, in spite of all precautions that you take, then find a table spoon. Yes, you read that correctly. Hold the spoon to your eyelashes and gently squeeze along the concave edge. You will get those perfect uplifted eyelashes in a jiffy.
Get rid of a pimple
You wake up on the day of your wedding and the first thing you notice is a big red spot on your face that will be a full fledged, red and angry pimple by evening. No need to panic! Just grab some ice and lemon juice. The ice will help to reduce redness and swelling, while the citric acid in the lemon juice will dry out the pimple. Or if you have some lime or chuna at hand (the kind used to make paan), just dab some over the affected area and watch the magic happen.
Your hair goes haywire
The winter months are generally considered an auspicious time to get married, but the weather can play havoc with your hair. A lot of women suffer from severe hair loss during this season, and flyaway is pretty common too. Just keep some hand lotion in your purse, and squeeze out a dollop to smooth over your hair if it gets too crazy.
Can you think of any other beauty emergencies that I have overlooked?
