In an interview with ETimes, Raghubir Yadav's estranged wife, Purnima Kharga, has accused the Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar actor of some sensitive accusations. The former Kathak dancer stated that Raghubir isn't paying her monthly maintenance amount on time to torture her financially. Purnima shockingly revealed that last year she was unpaid for almost five months, as she had received not a single penny from her estranged husband, because of which, she had to sell her house. Recalling the painful incident, she said, "Last year, there was a point where I was unpaid for 5 months. This delay in turn cost me my house in Yari Road."

Raghubir's lawyer stated that Purnima should consider her estranged husband's age while asking for such massive alimony. Shalini Devi said, "There is no point making the war between Raghubir and Purnima ugly. Purnima is asking for an exorbitant amount, else my client would have settled it by now. Raghubir is 71 and Purnima should rather understand."
Talking about the alimony, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Raghubir Yadav's wife, Purnima Kharga, had demanded Rs. 10 crores as final alimony from the Lagaan actor. Purnima had also reportedly accused Raghubir of cheating on her in 1995 with one of his film's co-stars. Both Raghubir and Purnima are living separately since 1995.
