The loss of India's former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, was deeply felt across the nation. He was not just the architect of India's economic reforms but a beloved husband and father. The legend is survived by his wife and three daughters. Manmohan Singh passed away due to age-related medical conditions on December 26, 2024, at AIIMS in Delhi. Indian Congress members, along with Amit Shah, Narendra Modi and more, paid their last tribute to the legend.

Rahul Gandhi pays his last respects to Manmohan Singh and calls his death a personal loss

Manmohan Singh was a living legend and a pillion of the current Indian National Congress. His death left a hole in the hearts of the people, and Rahul Gandhi was affected by the same. He took to his Instagram account and shared a video as he paid him last respects to the former PM. Rahul greeted everyone with folded hands and was seen getting emotional as he bid adieu to Manmohan Singh. Sharing the video, Rahul Gandhi wrote:

"His departure is a personal loss to me. I have lost a guide of mine. Millions of people like me who were their fans, will always remember them with great pride."

Sonia Gandhi, Amit Shah and Narendra Modi also said their goodbyes to the former PM

Saying goodbye to a legend like Manmohan Singh isn't easy. Sonia Gandhi was also present at his last rites, and she honoured her legacy with folded hands and put a garland around him. Amit Shah and Narendra Modi were also in attendance as they paid their last respects.

Narendra Modi expressed his heartfelt condolenceson Manmohan Singh's demise

Narendra Modi also took to his social media handle, X, and shared a heartfelt note on Manmohan Singh's death. Mr. Modi shared how he was the most respected economist and served the country as a Finance Minister. His tweet can be read as:

"India mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished leaders, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. Rising from humble origins, he rose to become a respected economist. He served in various government positions as well, including as Finance Minister, leaving a strong imprint on our economic policy over the years. His interventions in Parliament were also insightful. As our Prime Minister, he made extensive efforts to improve people’s lives."

Manmohan Singh passed away at the age of 92

For the unversed, Manmohan Singh was admitted to the AIIMS hospital in Delhi after his health condition deteriorated due to old age and numerous health concerns. It was Congress leader, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's husband, Robert Vadra expressed his condolences. He wrote in a post on X:
