However, the film was a blockbuster but couldn't do much to take off Rajiv's acting career. In an interview with the popular pet magazine, Tell Tail, Rajiv Kapoor and Sunita had opened up about the impact of their pooch, Tofu and surprisingly revealed that there was a time when both of them were strongly against the idea of having a pet. Well, the reason behind it was the tragic demise of Sunita's spitz named Dora. Recalling the tragedy, Sunita clearly stated that after Dora's demise, she struggled to recover from it. She had said:
"It took me six months to recover from her death so I didn't want another dog. Rajeev wasn't a dog person so the decision not to get a pet was mutual. But destiny had Tofu in mind."
Going further in the interview, Rajiv Kapoor had stated that he brings toys, treats, and accessories for his little Tofu from across the globe. He had also admitted that he had spoilt his pooch a bit in the process. The actor had also revealed that he had hired a personal attendant for Tofu, and he can do whatever he wants. Rajiv had also stated that Tofu had changed his life and had added that whenever he used to call Sunita, he never misses a chance to talk to Tofu or hear his voice. He had explained:
"Tofu has changed my life. I've never missed anybody like I did Tofu when I was in the USA. I would call Sunita to put it on the speaker to get me to talk to him."
