Well, after Irrfan Khan, Sonali Bendre, Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife Tahira Kashyap and Rishi Kapoor, we today came to know that Hrithik Roshan’s father and famous Bollywood director-producer, Rakesh Roshan is suffering from cancer. Yes, you read that exactly right! This is indeed very shocking, no? None other than his son, Hrithik broke this news on the Internet as he took to his official Instagram account and shared the news in the caption of the post.
Hrithik posted a happy picture with his dad straight from the gym and reveals that he has been diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few days ago. Following is the picture and along with that he wrote, “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldnt miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. For the ones who don’t know, earlier from Roshan family Hrithik’s sister, Sunaina Roshan fought against cancer and came out as a winner. It was in 2014 that Sunaina beat cervical cancer and has been inspiring others. She once shared, “I want to inspire people across the globe. If the blog is a success maybe, I’ll think of a book and go on a show like Ted Talks. I want to tell people that I am a survivor, and not a victim”. During that time Rakesh took to Twitter and gave strength to his girl as he tweeted, "You’ve been through so many hardships in life but nothing has ever defeated you. You’re a survivor and a victor. I’m so proud of you!” Here’s the snapshot of the same:
In an interview with Bombay Times, Rakesh had once shared how his bond with Hrithik is. He said, “My bond with Hrithik is as strong as ever”. And went on to explain, “Even when Hrithik stayed with us, he'd sleep in his room and we'd seldom meet him because of his work hours. Now, he comes here in the morning, we gym together, discuss things, he goes to shoot, works and returns in the evening”. Rakesh Roshan’s Bollywood journey has not been a cakewalk. He has had his own share of ups and downs and struggles despite being the son of the famous musician, Roshan. Worked as an assistant director with veterans like H. S. Rawail and Mohan Kumar, he has filmmaking running in his veins. His first huge success as a director was with the film Kudgarz long back in 1987. And in 2000, Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hai was the highest grosser and entered the Limca Book of Records for the most number of awards won by a Bollywood film.
