Hrithik Roshan debuted with his father, Rakesh Roshan's 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' in 2000. However, the shoot wasn't completed without several arguments on the set.

Hrithik Roshan is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood. He has the perfect combination of skills, passion, looks and good ethics. The actor made his debut with his father, Rakesh Roshan's romantic drama, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.
However, the father-son duo's working relationship didn't come without its fair share of arguments. In the new Netflix India documentary, The Roshans, Hrithik's mother, Pinky Roshan, revealed what happened between the father and son. She was quoted saying:
"I found him a little sad sometimes. 'What happened? You don’t look good.' Then he would come out of it eventually and tell me he wanted to do it a different way, and Papa used to say, 'No, this is fine.' So I used to hear him, and I used to feel bad as the mother. So, from his room, I would go to my room and ask my husband, 'Kya hua aaj?' 'Usko kuchh nahi pata hai! Director main hu! Picture mujhe banani aati hai' I said, 'But uski baat sunn toh lo.'"
Rakesh Roshan also opened up on an episode of the show and shared how he and Hrithik Roshan used to argue. He revealed that Hrithik wanted to do the scene a certain way while he wanted to do it the other way. He added that there used to be arguments, but the outcome was always positive. He was quoted saying:
"I and Hrithik also used to argue. He'd say, 'Papa, main aisa karta hoon'. I said, 'Nahi Duggu, achha nahi lagega aisa. Aise karo.' Mujhe bhi sambhalna padta tha because wo actor bhi hai, beta bhi hai. Uske liye bhi wohi hote tha ki director hain, but mere papa bhi hain. Toh arguments hote the, but the resolution used to be positive."
Hrithik Roshan also reflected on his time on the set of Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and shared that he used to complain a lot on the set. The actor revealed that Rakesh Roshan once didn't colour-correct a major portion of the film before sending some overseas prints, which made him extremely angry. However, Rakesh gave it back to him for the first time on his face.
Rakesh had even told his wife, Pinky Roshan, that Hrithik was being ungrateful despite the director's best efforts to do everything in his power for his son's benefit. Hrithik then learnt that a lot was riding on Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai as their house and cars were mortgaged. Thankfully, the film turned out to be a blockbuster. Pinky said she was relieved that they managed to save the house.
