Ranbir Kapoor's 'Ramayana' Has A Budget Of Almost Rs 850 Crore, And It'll Be Released After 3 Years?

Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana' will reportedly be the costliest Indian film. However, cine lovers might have to wait for a few years to witness this magnum opus on the silver screens.

Ranbir Kapoor is one of the much-loved actors in Bollywood. The handsome actor never skips a chance to swoon hearts with his masterclass acting skills. It was in 2023, when Ranbir broke all the box-office records with the movie, Animal. Talking about his professional life, the actor has some much-anticipated movies, including Love And War and Ramayana in his kitty. However, cine lovers have been eagerly waiting for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, which will feature Ranbir and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. Amid this, a recent report suggested the possible release date of Nitesh Tiwari's magnum opus and also revealed the massive budget of this movie, which will reportedly make it one of the costliest among Indian movies.

Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana will be the costliest Indian film

As per a recent report by Bollywood Hungama, Nitesh Tiwari's much-anticipated project, Ramayana is not just a movie, but the makers have been working extremely hard to make this film a global spectacle. The same report suggested that Ramayana will be made on a whopping budget of USD 100 million, i.e., Rs. 835 crore just for only part one, thereby making it the costliest Indian film. The source added that the idea of the makers of Ramayana is to provide the audience with a visual treat with Ranbir Kapoor's role as 'Ram'. The source can be quoted as saying:

"Ramayana is not just a film but an emotion, and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make it a global spectacle. The USD 100 Million ( Rs. 835 crore) budget is just for Ramayana: Part One. He (Namit Malhotra) plans to expand this further as the franchise grows. The idea is to take the audience on a visual treat with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram."

The source also added that only the post-production work of Ramayana would take 600 days, and that's when the movie will be ready to rock on the silver screens. As per the source, the big-budget movie will feature some original visuals. The source added that the aim of the makers is to take Indian cinema to a global level. On the other hand, as per some other reports, Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana will hit the floors in October 2027.

Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi's fees for Ramayana

For those who don't know, it was reported that Alia Bhatt was the one who was first roped in for the role of 'Sita', however, she later backed out for date-related issues. Later, the role was offered to the gorgeous actress, Sai Pallavi. If the reports are to be believed, Sai Pallavi charged Rs. 6 crore for each part of the trilogy, Ramayana, thereby making it Rs. 18 crore in total, and it will be her Bollywood debut. On the other hand, Ranbir's reported salary for Ramayana is Rs. 225 crore, which is Rs.75 crore per film.
