South superstar, Rana Daggubati had given a sweet surprise to his millions of fans and set a new trend by tying the knot with the love of his life, Miheeka Bajaj at the peak of COVID-19 pandemic in August last year. The grand wedding that had comprised of not more than 30 people, had caught everyone's attention as one of the country's most eligible bachelors was finally beginning his marital journey. The south superstar, Rana Dauggubati's pandemic wedding in Hyderabad was a mix of Telugu and Marwari customs. The grand affair was attended by who's and who of Telugu cinema, including stars like Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni. The bride and groom had also live-streamed their wedding in virtual reality for selective guests to include them in the celebrations.
Rana Daggubati's wedding guest list was downsized to just 30 people, (owing to the COVID-19 restrictions). In an interview with the Filmfare, the actor said that he would not have wanted his wedding any other way. Rana Daggubati also talked about his parents' reaction to his decision of tying the knot with Miheeka during the pandemic and how married life is treating him. He said, "In fact, I felt it was the best time to get married. Obviously, there were a lot of people who I couldn't invite but the whole thing felt extremely personal and nice. I wouldn't have wanted it in any other way."
The actor further said that his parents were not bothered by the pandemic wedding and continued, "They were extremely happy. The fact that I was getting married alone was enough motivation for them." Lastly, commenting on his married life, Rana said, "You get a feeling of being balanced, settled. The bond you share is a great source of calm as well as energy. In a post-wedding interview with Neha Dhupia for her show, #NoFilterWithNeha, Rana Daggubati had revealed how he had met Miheeka Bajaj and had thrown some light on their love story. Rana had said, "I know Miheeka for a very long time because my sister and she went to school together. So, I’ve known her pretty much all my life and there’s only a handful of people who move from Hyderabad to Bombay. So, we got talking during lockdown and I said okay, this is right and that’s about it. So, when good things happen, I don’t question too much, I just go. Everyone’s got a timeline, it’s okay. That’s fine."
For the wedding, the gorgeous bride, Miheeka Bajaj had ditched the traditional red for shades of cream and gold for her elegant wedding attire. She had donned a breathtaking Anamika Khanna lehenga, which had taken 10,000 man-hours, as per the words of the designer. The coral veil of the lehenga had accentuated the whole look, and the hand-done zardosi with a fine work of chikankari and gold metalwork on the lehenga paired with a woven gold dupatta had perfectly matched with the theme.
