Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are making their fans go ‘awww’ with their adorable chemistry and young love. However, not many know that Alia had a massive crush on Ranbir, even before she joined the world of showbiz. In fact, she had expressed her desire to marry him on Karan Johar’s celebrity chat show, Koffee With Karan, in 2013. And as they say, ‘True love finds its way back to you’! So, years later, when the two very single and good-looking stars signed Ayan Mukerji’s film, Brahmastra, the cupid played its part and they fell in love. On March 4, 2019, Alia and Ranbir attended the Kumbh Mela to unveil the logo of their first film together. It was a grand affair with hundred and fifty drones that formed the word Brahmastra in the night sky, as Alia and Ranbir watched. Take a look at the starry event below:
While driving on the way to Kumbh Mela, Alia took to her Instagram stories to report live about their journey. In the video, she asked her co-star about their journey so far, to which Ranbir replied, “Right now we just got down from the plane and we are driving to Allahabad. So we are en route to Kumbh Mela.” Alia, who had taken the camera in her own hands, asked Ranbir about his opinion on her photography skills. To which Ranbir quipped, “It sucks. The photographer has to be in love with the subject. I don't think you are in love with anything except yourself.” Uh-oh, well that was harsh! Check out the video below:
Recently, in an interview with Mid-Day, Ranbir revealed the details of the film that is extremely close to his heart. He had said, “It is actually a supernatural romantic fairy tale at heart. Ayan will never make a character that doesn’t have truth to it, or which is unbelievable. It’s too early to talk about the film, but it is something I am terribly excited about.” He also confirmed that the film is a trilogy, and stated, “Apart from being my best friend and my favourite director, Ayan has worked on this film for six years. He is going to spend the next 10 years of his life on this trilogy. So when the first part is complete, the audience will know it’s not the end. That is something really exciting for me as an actor.” (Also Read: Navya Nanda Wore A Similar Lehenga As Sonam Kapoor, At Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta's Pre-Wedding Bash)
For those who don’t know, in a throwback interview, Alia had recalled her first, rather embarrassing conversation with Ranbir. She had said, “I remember the first time I spoke to Ranbir. You (Karan Johar) called him up when Rockstar just released and you said, ‘Here, talk to Ranbir. Tell him how much you love him’. And I spoke so much rubbish. I was just talking non-stop, and he was like, ‘Yeah, that's very nice, Alia.’”
Later, in May 2018, Alia said that Ranbir was her biggest crush of all time. She had talked about her link-up rumours in an interview with India Today, and had stated, “I don't have to deal with them, because if it's true, it's true. And if it's false, it's false. Let's just say everything is not because of a movie and everything is not for publicity.”
The whispers grew louder and ended in ‘happy cheers’ when Ranbir confirmed his relationship with Alia in an interview with GQ magazine. He had said, “It's really new right now, and I don't want to overspeak. It needs time to breathe and it needs space. As an actor, as a person, Alia is - what's the right word? - flowing right now. When I see her work, when I see her act, even in life, what she gives is something that I'm aspiring to for myself. It's new for us, so let it cook a bit.” (Don't Miss: Taapsee Pannu Wanting To Take Taimur Ali Khan On A Date Is Something Which Every Girl Already Feels)
