Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra had tied the knot on April 21, 2014. On December 9, 2015, the couple had embraced parenthood for the first time with their baby girl's arrival, whom they have named Adira. Baby Adira's name is the amalgamation of Rani and Aditya's name, symbolising their beautiful love story. Rani Mukerji completes 25 years in Bollywood industry in 2021. The actress had made a solid comeback to the silver screen after her daughter's birth, with her superhit film, Mardaani 2 in 2019. In an interview with the IANS, Rani Mukerji talked at length about her career and revealed whom she gives credits for helping her survive in the industry after getting married and having a baby.
Talking about how grateful she feels towards her fans for putting their trust in her, Rani Mukerji said, "Without my fans, I would not have been able to survive, especially with the kind of prejudices a married actress with a baby has to go through. The fact that they have supported me throughout is nothing short of a miracle and that's why I'm still working and doing relevant work."
Rani further talked about completing 25 years in the Bollywood industry and said, "When I think of the number of years, it seems like a very long time but honestly for me it just seems like my journey has never stopped. It's just gone on and on since the day I was 16 and I started working. Now, 25 years feels the same because the struggle is yet on, and the learning is still on as an actor. There is a lot that I have to accomplish, there is a lot that I have to learn." Speaking about how her journey of 25 years as an actor has been, Rani said, "For an actor, learning never stops and the more experience I have with different directors, different technicians, different co-stars, I get to learn a lot. It still feels nice and I am raring to go because with each film, I kind of discover a new me and I love telling stories -- important stories, powerful women stories."

Earlier, in an interview with a leading daily, Rani Mukerji had spilt beans about what had made her fall for Aditya Chopra. In her words, "For Adi, I feel if he was to be like Karan Johar, I don't think I'd have fallen in love with him. Karan is everywhere, he is so social and he is the life of a party. Every day he is doing something or the other. The thing with me is that I need my family at home. I am a very family-oriented person, I would go mad if my husband was working; as it is half the time he is in the studio. Imagine, him having a social life beyond his films. Half the time, I would not get to see him. I am very happy and content that he (Aditya Chopra) is not a social person. After his work, he comes back home to me."
Rani had further explained how she and Aditya are very similar people and had said, "The reason why I fell in love with my husband was because he is extremely private. For me, after being in the industry for so many years, he was one person I really respected. It is very difficult to respect people in the fraternity as you know them inside and out of everything. So, Adi was one of those rare people who I really respected, who I still respect, because of his ethos, work pattern and the way he is. Because I am private myself, it makes us a really good couple because we are very happy going nowhere."
