Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding news have been making it to the headlines quite a lot lately. It all started before the release of Padmaavat, when Prakash and Ujjala Padukone (Deepika’s parents), and Jagjit Singh and Anju Bhavnani (Ranveer’s parents) sat down and had a low-key celebration. The families exchanged gifts, and Deepika received jewellery and a Sabyasachi saree.
Even though, neither Ranveer nor Deepika has come out in the open to talk about their wedding, they never fail to speak highly of each other in the interviews and public events. As per a report on Pinkvilla, in an interview to a famous publication, Ranveer reverently spoke of Deepika and said, “Deepika is a very special person in my life. I admire her a lot and she is a brilliant actor. Her capabilities were discovered after Cocktail because it became a commercial success, but I had noticed it much earlier, starting with Love Aaj Kal and then Break Ke Baad and Lafangey Parindey. She is operating at an advanced level of performance right now. Having worked with her in Goliyon Ki RasLeela Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and now Padmaavat, you have to see it to believe it, the way she works.”
He further added, “I can’t think of any actor in today’s time doing double shifts. I remember while shooting for Ram Leela, she was also juggling between Chennai Express and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. I love her vibe; she’s so calm, like a Buddhist monk. She’s an extremely warm person, genuine and very, very kind to one and all. Beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.”
Coming to the wedding rumours, Ranveer replied, “Right now we are both extremely busy working. Besides, she is also recuperating from back problems. So we are quite occupied and distracted. So, if there is any announcement in the future, you will be hearing me shouting from the rooftops.”
In another interview, Ranveer was quoted as saying, “It is the function of speculation - to exist. Nothing is official till it is made official and I am not a seer. I cannot say this will happen on this date in the future. Right now we are both extremely busy working. Besides, she is also recuperating from back problems. So we are quite occupied and distracted. So, if there is any announcement in the future, you will be hearing me shouting from the rooftops”
As per the latest development, Deepika and Ranveer are most likely to get married in Switzerland. Media reports suggest that the officials have, in fact, offered Ranveer to marry there because he happens to be the tourism ambassador of the beautiful country.
Just a few days ago, as per a report in the Mumbai Mirror, a source confirmed, “It will be an extremely private, traditional Hindu ceremony with the couple tying the knot in the presence of only close friends and family. The couple is still deciding if they want a reception to follow”
In a recent interview, when Deepika was asked to comment on her marriage, she responded, “When it is time, I’ll know that it is the right time. I think as an institution, it is extremely important. That’s the way I have been brought up. It is extremely important for me to see myself like that. It is every girl’s dream. I have always followed my instinct and I know that I will feel it when I am ready and when it’s meant to happen.”
We can’t wait more for Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding to take place.
