Two of the most talented actors of the current lot, Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey had gotten married in the year 2010 after dating for a while. After a year, they had embraced parenthood with a baby boy's arrival, whom they have named, Haroon. After that things had gone downhill in their marital life as the couple had parted ways in 2015 and were officially granted a divorce in the year 2020. Now, in an interview with Rediff, Ranvir Shorey talked about the prospects of him working together with Konkona Sen Sharma again and co-parenting their son, Haroon. For the uninitiated, Ranvir and Konkona had starred together in films such as Aaja Nachle, Mixed Doubles and Traffic Signal. He had also featured in her directorial debut, A Death In The Gunj.

In the interview, Ranvir said that the interests of their son, Haroon, will preside over everything else and that their child should not feel any ‘bitterness’, even if it exists. Talking about another possible professional collaboration with Konkona, Ranvir said, “I doubt that. With the first one (Konkona's directorial debut, A Death In The Gunj), she made sure I was a part of it, but we were separating at the time. Even if the bitterness is there, it should not spill over to the child's life. That is more important for me. Whatever steps we take, they have to be right for Haroon.”

Around September 2020, Ranvir Shorey had hosted an 'Ask Me Anything' session on his Twitter handle, wherein he was flooded with his fans' questions. One user had asked him whether he will reconcile with his estranged wife, Konkona Sen Sharma. The fan had asked, "I love @konkonas as Director and Actor... Will you guys ever get married again... #AskRanvir." To this, Ranvir had responded with a series of laughing emojis.

Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranvir Shorey's divorce had come through in August 2020. Amruta Sathe Pathak, who was representing Konkona, had told ETimes that they had tried their best to make their marriage work and had even undergone counselling. But they were unable to resolve their differences. She had said, “Yes, Konkona and Ranvir are now divorced. It was done very amicably. It’s not that Ranvir and Konkona didn’t try to remain together, both even underwent detailed counselling - but it just didn’t sort out." A Times of India report had talked about their divorce. A source had informed ETimes, "They came and left separately but nevertheless, this is one of the most peaceful divorces that one has seen in a long time. There is absolutely no animosity between the two. Sad of course that they couldn't reconcile as a couple but who can control destiny? It's not that Ranvir and Konkona didn't try to remain together, both even underwent detailed counselling- but it just didn't sort out."

In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Ranvir had talked about his son, Haroon and how he had reacted to their divorce. He had said, "It’s about changing gender roles. So, Haroon has two homes now and half the time he’s at my place and the other half with his mom. With women stepping out and taking on new roles, the time has come for men to step out of their stereotypes too. I’m more patient and my cooking has improved too. Since Haroon’s mom is usually busier than I am, we came up with this idea. It’s not so much about spending a few hours bonding with my son as it’s about child rearing."
