Ranvir Shorey Remembers The Most Traumatic Time Of His Life, Reveals, 'The Toughest Part Was...'

'BB OTT 3' participant and actor, Ranvir Shorey made some candid revelations about his life and recalled the most traumatic time he had to deal with.

Bollywood actor, Ranvir Shorey grabbed headlines for quite some time now, ever since he joined in the popular reality show, Bigg Boss OTT 3. While for the longest, Ranvir claimed that he would only join such a show if he had no work, he ended up being a part of it nonetheless, and revealed on national television, that he has been out of work. And now, Ranvir opened up about one of the most traumatic situations in his life.

Ranvir Shorey recalls how he ended up in showbiz

In the recent episode of Bigg Boss OTT 3, Ranvir Shorey walked down the memory lane and spoke about how he ended up making a career in films. He remembered starting out to work at the age of 21, by directing and producing non-fiction shows. Afterwards, Ranvir revealed working as a VJ, which he quitted after some time as well, and took help from his brothers to make the ends meet. He narrated:

“I began my journey behind the camera—directing and producing non-fiction shows. Then I started VJ-ing for a major entertainment channel. Things became tough when I had to quit my VJ job due to a management company change in the early 2000s. Suddenly, I went from earning a six figure salary a month to nothing. My brothers lent me money to make ends meet.”

Ranvir says his mother’s demise was the biggest trauma of his life

Continuing with his revelations, Ranvir then opened up about the most traumatic period of his life, after he lost his mother in 2002. The actor revealed that at time, he was busy shooting for his film, Lakshya in Ladakh, when he got the news of his mother's demise. Calling it his biggest trauma, Ranvir said:

“In 2002, I was shooting for Lakshya in Ladakh, I got a call from home informing me that my mother was not well. But I couldn’t leave the set, as the shoot was still in progress. Fortunately, when I returned to Bombay she was okay and discharged from the hospital. A few days later, she passed away at home. It remains the biggest trauma of my life.”

In his personal life, Ranvir Shorey was previously married to actress, Konkona Sen Sharma, and the couple is parents to their son, Haroon. However, after their divorce, the duo opted to co-parent their child and have maintained an amicable equation over the same. Earlier, in another episode of Bigg Boss OTT 3, Ranvir opened up for he first time, about his current equation with his ex-wife and said that they have only kept in touch, for the sake of their son.

When Ranvir Shorey said he joined Bigg Boss OTT 3 after he went jobless

During the premier of Bigg Boss OTT 3, Ranvir Shorey shockingly revealed that he was jobless. He further asserted that he joined the show only to revive his career. Adding how he is in dire need of work at the moment, he said:

“I am an actor. I've done my first film in the year 1999. Aaj kaam hota toh yaha kyu hota. Aapka toh acha hai khud he sab banao, khud he kamao. Aajkal ye thodi nayi technology aa gayi hai. Hum thode purane jamane ke hai."
