Raqesh Bapat shared how his ex-wife, Ridhi Dogra reacted to his relationship with his 'Bigg Boss OTT' co-contestant, Shamita Shetty.
Inside the Bigg Boss OTT house, we had witnessed love blooming between Raqesh Bapat and his co-contestant, Shamita Shetty. While many had wondered if their bond was just for the show, their recent date proved that they are taking their relationship seriously. While inside the house, Shamita Shetty was taking care of Raqesh, outside the house, it was his ex-wife, Ridhi Dogra, who was taking a stand for him.
While Raqesh Bapat and Ridhi Dogra had parted ways in 2019, his heart is connecting with Shamita Shetty now. On September 24, 2021, Raqesh and Shamita were spotted at her sister, Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s restaurant, Bastian for a date. A few hours back, he had taken to his Instagram handle to share a picture from their dinner date, holding each other’s hand on the dinner table. Raqesh had captioned the picture as “U and I," with a red heart emoji and a hashtag that read '#ShaRa', the nickname lovingly given by their fans.

In a conversation with the Hindustan Times, Raqesh Bapat shared his ex-wife, Ridhi Dogra’s reaction to his bond with Shamita Shetty. Raqesh said, “She would be happy if I am with somebody and likewise, I will be happy if she finds somebody. Because at the end of it, we are two individuals, it’s water under the bridge now. We are two mature people and whatever decisions we have made so far were our own, we dealt with it maturely and we came out of it with flying colours.”
Raqesh also shared that he will be happy if Ridhi finds someone in her life. He added, “There is no bad blood at all, there is too much of respect still. And I will be happiest if she finds love in her life back and she is happy and the going is great for her. I will be elated if something like this happens. Like she is too, so yeah, it is all good.”

When asked about his relationship status with Shamita Shetty, Raqesh said, “Status quo, actually. I wanted to know her better outside the house because when you are on a reality show, you are obviously not completely open. There is a personal life and public life to each one of us. I want to explore the personal life, I want to know her better because knowing her on a show is very different from knowing her personally in the outside world.”
Raqesh also mentioned that before giving their relationship a name, he would like to know Shamita more. He added, “Before giving it any kind of name, this bond, we would like to know each other better. Let’s see, que sera sera. I don’t want to rush into anything and I am sure she also feels the same.”
For the unversed, Raqesh Bapat and Ridhi Dogra had decided to end their marital life after being married for seven years.
