In an interview with Brut India, the Golmaal 3 actress reveals some exciting details about her husband and actor, Naseeruddin Shah.
After being married for over four decades, there are always habits or qualities of your partner that you grow to love or tolerate. So, when Ratna Pathak Shah was asked a similar question about what one thing she loves, hates, and tolerates about him, she got an interesting answer. Ratna Pathak Shah was quoted saying:
“Love… his deep involvement with acting. I can love, hate and tolerate all three in that. Largely love, because it is a very special feature. Naseer really cannot be bothered with anything except the performance and working towards the performance. It's an attitude that I have not seen in others.”

Ratna Pathak Shah ventured into the acting world, debuting in the critically acclaimed film, Mandi (1983). Filmmaker, Shyam Bengal directed the film. Since then, she has showcased her acting ability in various characters. She has been one of the few actors working in the industry from the 1970s to date. As a result, she was asked about her views on what has changed in the film culture over the years. Recalling her experience, the actress said:
“Much more professionalism, much less hierarchy. That's one thing that I am very happy with. There's less hierarchy visible on a set. Crew and cast are not two completely watertight compartments anymore. There's much crossover.”
In the modern world, social media has a dominant role in the film industry that wasn't present in the past. The Kapoor & Sons actress feels that in the present times, work in the film industry is based on the number of social media followers of an actor rather than their talent. So, Ratna Pathak Shah, who is not on Instagram, revealed that she was out of work, which was one of the reasons for it. Sharing her perspective, Ratna said:
“Depending on the number of followers, people are getting work today. That is what I have heard. Nobody approached me for work because I am not on Instagram, so maybe that could be a reason. I have been completely unemployed for a whole year now. So these are the kind of things that do seem to matter a lot.”
