Raveena Tandon is one of the most graceful actresses of Bollywood. Not just this, she was also among the highest-paid celebrities in the 90s. She is still a popular actress, and fans never miss a single moment to take a selfie with her. When she was alone in London a few days back, she encountered some fans who wanted to click a photo with her. However, given the Bandra incident a few months ago, the actress got slightly nervous and denied the fans. Now, she took to her X (formerly Twitter) account and her Instagram stories to share a heartfelt apology note.
The Mohra actress was walking alone in London when some men approached her and asked for a selfie. Raveena penned in the note that following the Bandra incident, she took precautions and denied the photographs. She then walked faster to avoid them. The actress wrote:
“A few days ago in London, I was walking by and a few men approached me, I anyway have heard not such great things about the crime situation here, so I withdrew a bit when they asked if I was who I am, and my first instinct was to say no and walk away even faster as I was alone, they just wanted a picture I guess, and I most of the time oblige, but after the incident that happened in Bandra a few months ago, has left me a bit nervous and traumatised.”
Given the humble and down-to-earth nature of the actress, she apologised to the fans and said that it was not her intention to offend them. She also mentioned that she was sorry for panicking. In her words:
“I have felt really bad after this incident, and would want to apologise to them through this medium if they are reading, that it was not my intention to offend. I’m really sorry. Hope I can meet you again and click a picture with you maybe. I try my best to be accessible and normal, but I fail at times. So sorry guys. I hope you are reading this and know that, I shouldn’t have panicked.”
For the unversed, on June 2, 2024, a video of Raveena went viral on the internet, where she was attacked by a mob and was accused of drunk driving and assault. A false complaint was filed against the actress for the same. Additionally, her driver was also blamed for assaulting three women. However, when the police conducted the investigation on the basis of the incident's CCTV footage, all the accusations against Raveena and her driver were nullified.
According to Mid-Day, a family was crossing the same lane in which Raveena’s driver was reversing the car. The family stopped the driver and told him to check before reversing. This led to a heated argument between both the parties, and Raveena had to jump in to protect her driver, but she also fell prey to the mob’s abuse and false allegations.
