After this, for his higher studies, he moved to Delhi and had taken admission in the prestigious Deshbandhu College of the University of Delhi. Moving further in his education, Ravish pursued a post-graduate diploma in Hindi Journalism from IIMC (Indian Institue of Mass Communication).

After completing his studies, Ravish Kumar joined the news channel, NDTV in the year 1996, and the rest, as they say, is history. On 30th November 2022, Ravish Kumar resigned from NDTV following Adani acquisition. So far in his journalism career, Ravish Kumar has received a series of awards for his unfiltered and brave work in the field of journalism. However, some of the most important awards with which he was bestowed are the Ramon Magsaysay Award, Kuldip Nayar Journalism Award, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award and Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award.
When NDTV's Senior Executive Editor, Ravish Kumar was studying in Delhi University's famous college, Deshbandhu College, he was also preparing for the civil services exams.
