Why is Taylor Swift rereleasing all her music as Taylor’s Version?

Taylor Swift started her career in 2005 when she was 15 years old. At that time, Taylor signed a 13-year-long contract with Big Machine Label Group. The label group provided Taylor with the platform to showcase and commercialise her music and, in return, held complete ownership of her music. Due to the contract, Taylor, despite being the creator of her music, did not have any rights to them, so much so that she could not even perform her songs without the label's permission.

The contract ended in 2018, and soon after, Taylor tried to buy the rights to all her music, but the label declined as they had already sold her music’s ownership to another company. This is why Taylor is releasing all her music to regain their ownership. This way, she will not only be able to sing them as per her wish but also will get to use them in ads and films.
