Once, in an interview, Rekha opened up about finding love again in life years after her husband, Mukesh Agarwal's death. Here's what she said about embracing motherhood.
Bollywood's evergreen beauty, Rekha has proved her mettle in acting with hit films like Silsila, Umrao Jaan and Khoobsurat, among others. Apart from her acting spree, she is known for her undeniable charm and sartorial choices. While Rekha continues to rule our hearts even at the age of 69, she had her heart broken many times as she has had a tumultuous life. While Rekha got married to businessman, Mukesh Agarwal, in 1990, who died seven months after their wedding, she was still hopeful of finding love again a few years later.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times in 2006, Rekha talked about finding the perfect guy for her and shared that she was not in denial. Rekha said that she is willing to change her mind and get married if she finds the right man. She even got candid about the things she would do for her would-be-husband and said:
“I’m not in denial. If I find someone who’s willing to share me with my fans, I might change my mind. If I had a man, I would just be devoting all my attention to that one person. I’ll take out his clothes, personally monitor his menu, prepare the lunch and personally deliver it to him.”

In the same interview, Rekha opened up about embracing motherhood and revealed that she never had any kids because she never wanted them. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that she doesn't miss children and added that even if she finds a man to get married to, she would not have kids. Revealing the reason behind the same, Rekha said:
“I do not miss children. Even if I find the ultimate man to have babies with, it would be very unfair to my priorities. Because if I have a baby, I won’t be able to focus on anything else."
Rekha lives a happy life and makes frequent appearances at star-studded events, swooning our hearts with her enchanting presence. According to reports, Rekha's earliest crush was on one of her first co-stars, Naveen Nishchal, but he never reciprocated her love. Earlier, an article in the National Herald India claimed that Rekha was attracted towards her co-star, Vinod Mehra during the making of the 1971 film, Elaan, which even resulted in marriage. However, Vinod’s mother was against his wedding to Rekha and reportedly didn’t allow her to enter their home. Later, Rekha reportedly fell in love with actor, Kiran Kumar, but she had to face rejection yet again. And then there was Rekha's fondness for Amitabh Bachchan, which needs no introduction.

There is no denying the fact that Rekha was once head-over-heels in love with Amitabh Bachchan, and their alleged romance was the talk of the town. However, destiny had different plans, and the actress tied the knot with businessman, Mukesh Aggarwal. After their marriage, Rekha learnt that her husband was suffering from chronic depression, and on October 2, 1990, he decided to take his life. After her husband's tragic death by suicide, Rekha was labelled as a cold-hearted man-eater by the nation. However, she never got married again.
