Legendary actress, Rekha shed happy tears witnessing the newlyweds, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal. She also cutely warded off evil eyes from them.
Sonakshi Sinha stepped into the new chapter of her life with the man of her dreams, Zaheer Iqbal. The couple had a registered marriage on June 23, 2024, followed by a grand party arranged the same evening. The starry celebration saw some of the most A-listed celebrities mark their attendance, as they blessed Sonakshi and Zaheer for their happy future together. And recently, we caught hold of a special glimpse featuring Rekha, as she turned extremely emotional and shed happy tears seeing them.
While scrolling through our social media feed, we stumbled upon a priceless inside glimpse from Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s grand reception bash. The clip captured a special moment, as the couple got blessed by the veteran actress, Rekha. The latter held Sonakshi’s hands, as she shed a few happy tears seeing them together. Thereafter, Rekha made an adorable hand gesture to ward off evil eyes from the couple and expressed her happiness. Sonakshi’s mother, Poonam Sinha was also present in the frame, witnessing the special moment. Rekha could be heard as saying:
“Bohot khush hoon.”

For Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding, Rekha tuned in her glamorous avatar as always and opted for a stunning white and gold-hued Kanjeevaram saree. However, the icon chose to drape the saree differently this time, as she placed the pallu intricately on her shoulders as well as carried a part of it on her arms. Rekha completed her look with a bold choice of makeup, including red lips and smokey eyes. A stunning gajra tied up around her hair added stars to her look for the wedding reception.
Speaking about the couple of the hour, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal left everyone’s jaws dropped with their oh-so-perfect looks for their wedding celebrations. For her reception evening, Sonakshi looked breathtaking in a red-hued chand-butti silk saree from the shelves of Raw Mango. The saree featured woven motifs of the sun and the moon in gold thread all over it. Sonakshi tied her hair in a low bun, and decorated it with a gajra of mogra flowers. Sindoor-parted hairline and exquisite emerald jewellery completed her look. Zaheer, on the other hand, sported a white chikankari kurta and pyjama, layered with a matching coat.

For her civil wedding with Zaheer Iqbal, Sonakshi Sinha honoured her mother, Poonam Sinha with a very special gesture, and re-wore the former’s wedding saree for that of her own. The heavy saree in white featured intricate handwoven embroidery, which gave it a handcrafted feel thoroughly. Sonakshi paired the saree with a matching 3/4th length blouse. Not just her saree, but the actress also re-wore her mother’s wedding jewellery, especially a stunning polki necklace.
