Aditi Rao Hydari's 'Heeramandi' co-star Jayati Bhatia revealed how veteran actress Rekha expressed her desire to see the former as a bride.
Aditi Rao Hydari finally married Siddharth, the love of her life, in a traditional South Indian ceremony at her 400-year-old temple, Wanaparthy. For the unversed, Aditi and Siddharth, both the actors' first marriage didn't last long. But they gave love another chance and became each other's forever. However, not many know that it was veteran actress, Rekha, whose wish of seeing the duo's marriage came true.
Recently, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Jayati Bhatia, who played the role of 'Phatto' in the film Heeramandi, shared a shocking wish of Rekha. While congratulating the newly married couple, Jayati revealed that she believed it was Rekha whose wish came true of seeing Siddharth and Aditi get married.
Jayati further revealed that Rekha met Aditi and Siddharth at Sonakshi's wedding, and shared how she wanted to see their wedding. She was quoted as saying:
"I'd like to share my heartfelt wishes to Aditi and Siddharth. They both are such wonderful human beings. I believe Rekha Ji's wish for them came true because I remember seeing a video from Sonakshi's wedding wherein Rekha mentioned wanting to see Aditi and Siddharth married. Her wish for them and blessings have come true, and I'm extremely happy for them."
For her wedding day, Aditi picked a handwoven Maheshwari tissue lehegna, which she teamed with a Banarasi tissue dupatta. The outfit was from the archives of the famous designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee's Heritage textile collection. Aditi accentuated her look with Sabyasachi's heritage jewellery. On the other hand, her husband, Siddharth wore a silk kurta with a handwoven Banarasi dhoti and a veshti.
At the Galatta Golden Stars event, Siddharth was asked about his engagement. The actor clarified that it wasn't a secret engagement, while many things that it was. His family and friends were invited to a private ceremony. The couple engaged at Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Temple in Telangana. He was quoted as saying:
"Many told me we had done this (get engaged) in secret. There’s a big difference between doing something privately with family and in secret. The ones whom we didn’t invite think it’s a secret, but the ones who were there know it was private."
Siddharth further revealed that he was scared whether Aditi would say 'yes' to his proposal, and that's what mattered to him. He also talked about his wedding date and stated that it is the elders of the family who will decide on it as it is a 'lifetime date' and not a shooting date. He said:
"These questions on how long it took (for her to say yes) shouldn’t be asked. The end result must be either yes or no, pass or fail. I was worried whether it would be a yes, luckily I passed. The wedding date will depend on the elders (of the family) and what they say. It isn’t like a shooting date I can decide on, it’s a lifetime date. It will happen at the right time once they decide."
