According to a PTI report, Remo, his wife, and five others are accused of cheating and forgery. Remo D'Souza and his wife accused of stealing Rs. 11.96 crore prize money 

A 26-year-old dancer's complaint led to the case being filed on October 16, 2024, at the Mira Road police station in the Thane district. The complaint alleges that Remo D'Souza, Lizelle, and the other defendants falsely claimed the prize money earned by the dancer's troupe in a television competition between 2018 and July 2024, presenting themselves as the troupe's owners and keeping the Rs. 11.96 crore award money, as stated in the FIR.

Other defendants include Ramesh Gupta, Vinod Raut (a police officer), Frame Production Company, Rohit Jadhav, and Omprakash Shankar Chouhan. The case has been filed under several provisions of the Indian Penal Code, such as section 420 (cheating) and section 465 (forgery).
