Throwback to the time when Rhea Chakraborty shut trolls who questioned her connection with her mentor, Mahesh Bhatt.
Former VJ turned actress, Rhea Chakraborty is one of the most popular faces in the glamour world. She began her career as a VJ on MTV and later made her acting debut in the Telugu film, Tuneega Tuneega in 2012. Rhea made her Bollywood debut in 2013 with the film, Mere Dad Ki Maruti, which was followed by films like Sonali Cable, Half Girlfriend, Bank Chor, Jalebi, and Chehre.
Though Rhea Chakraborty’s professional life didn’t get much attention, her personal life got a lot of limelight after she began dating Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. The couple moved in together in 2019. However, in June 2020, she moved out of home, and after six days, he was found dead in their Bandra home.

After Sushant’s death, Rhea became the center of the vicious hate campaign. She was subjected to abuse, slandering, and hounding. After a lot of abhorrence, online threats, and media trials, Rhea sought help from the crime branch. Rhea Chakraborty’s name has previously hit the headlines, and the actress has often given fitting replies to her haters. However, she was once questioned about being connected to ace filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt, whom she considers a mentor and a father figure. Miffed by people's judgement, Rhea didn't think twice and cleared the air with her savage response.
It all began in 2018 when Rhea Chakraborty shared a picture with Mahesh Bhatt to wish him on his 70th birthday. The pictures were quite intimate and garnered a lot of attention. The actress penned a long note, tagging Mahesh’s daughter, Pooja Bhatt. Rhea’s note can be read as:
"Happy birthday to my Buddha @maheshfilm. Sir, this is us you held me with love, you showed me love, and you have unclipped my wings forever, you are the “heart hitting ” fire that ignites every soul it comes by! Words fail me I love you credits @suhritadas @poojab1972.”

However, as soon as the picture was shared on social media, many users started trolling Rhea, questioning her relationship with the filmmaker. Many hailed the actress for her love and respect towards her mentor, Bhatt saab; others said it was a publicity stunt for Rhea’s upcoming film, Jalebi. Soon, the actress deleted her post.
The online trolling turned daunting for Rhea Chakraborty. As a response to the online trolling, Rhea posted another picture with Mahesh Bhatt and gave a befitting reply, which could be read as:
“Tu kaun hain, Tera naam hain kya? Seeta bhi yahaan badnaam hui! If the trolls can hurl muck and filth of their minds, which comes out of their depraved souls, then all our claims of having moved away from the dark ages are bogus. Hey guys, don't you know you see the world AS YOU ARE, not AS IT IS!”

The lines used by Rhea Chakraborty to react to trolls were the lines by poet, Anand Bakshi. Mahesh Bhatt also used the same lines to talk about his relationship with Rhea. In an interview with ETimes, Mahesh Bhatt talked about the rumours pertaining to his relationship with Rhea and said:
“I cannot blame the world for seeing the world as they are. I am only responsible for what I am and what my relationship with this child is. If somebody wants to superimpose his or her perverse, diseased mind on this, what can I do? In fact, when she (Rhea) came a little apologetic when she was trolled, I said a great line by Anand Bakshi sahab that says, "Tu kaun hai tera naam hai kya... Sita bhi yahaan badnaam hui.”
For the unversed, Rhea Chakraborty worked in Mahesh Bhatt’s film, Jalebi, in which she played the character of 'Aisha'. Post Sushant’s death, his family lodged an FIR against Rhea for abetment of suicide, and soon she was arrested.
During the course of the interrogation, CBI got access to Rhea Chakraborty’s chat with Mahesh Bhatt on June 8, 2020, the day she left Sushant’s home. In the chat, she addressed herself as Aisha and wrote, “Aisha moves on..sir..with a heavy heart and sense of relief.’ In response to her, Mahesh Bhatt replied, “Our last call was a wake up call. You are my angel You were then And you are now. Don’t look back. Make it possible what is inevitable. My love to your father. He will be a happy man.” Rhea again responded back to him and penned, “You ve again unclipped my wings, twice in one life is almost God-like".
