Rhea Chakraborty recently reacted to the massive hate that came her way after Sushant Singh Rajput's demise and shared how she never anticipated the situation.
Rhea Chakraborty is one of the most controversial figures in Bollywood. The Indian actress and Video Jockey came under the limelight after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. His family pressed charges against her and blamed her for his suicide, which made the nation turn against her. After being in prison and dealing with media scrutiny, Rhea has gradually progressed. The actress is trying to begin a new life after the harrowing experience and began a podcast, Chapter 2, in the same quest. In a new interview, Rhea talked in detail about being blamed for late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's death and her time in prison.
Rhea Chakraborty was dating Sushant Singh Rajput, and all the guns turned towards her after his suicide in 2020. Recently, Rhea sat down for an interview with Humans Of Bombay. During the conversation, Rhea revealed that she used to be optimistic and just wanted to enjoy her work as an actor. Moreover, she always planned to be a financially independent in life before her life turned upside down after 2020.
Rhea continued by mentioning that she never thought the whole country would have an opinion about her one day. Whether it was good or bad was another thought. Despite being an actress, she never planned to be number one. At the same time, she wasn't ever prepared to deal with the hatred that eventually came her way. She was quoted as saying:
"No one prepared me for what was to come. They call me names like chudail, kaala jaadu karne waali, naagin etc, but I really don’t care. It used to upset me earlier."
Rhea Chakraborty was called several times for interrogations and massively trolled. Moreover, she was hounded by tons of photographers wherever she went. The actress continued to mention in the same interview how all the happenings made her angry, which affected her health. As a result, she was forced to turn towards forgiveness over the issue. In her words:
"I didn't think I would have it in my heart to forgive for all that had happened. But, it just became the simpler way to be because I was very angry for a long time. All anger gave me gut issues and acidity. I suffered from acidity for about three years, very badly. Forgiveness became the only option. I was almost forced to go down the path of forgiveness."
In the same interview, Rhea recalled her days in prison and mentioned she knew that she wouldn't be the same person after stepping foot outside. She shared how the prison is a different world where people are recognised by a number. The Jalebi actress added that it was about survival in jail, where every day felt like a long year.
