Rhea Chakraborty recalled the trauma she faced over the public trial after the death of her ex-boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput.
Rhea Chakraborty has restarted her life once more, post facing the toughest tribulations after the death of her ex-boyfriend and actor, late Sushant Singh Rajput. The worst of it came about since she had to bear the brunt of a public trial, where she was insulted and criticised vehemently. She was even sentenced to jail for a substantial period of time over alleged links with the actor’s death. Fast forward to now, she has definitely come way ahead of her past and started life anew. And in a recent interaction, Rhea opened up about the truamtic situations she went through.
In an interaction with author, Chetan Bhagat on his chat show, Deep Talk With Chetan Bhagat, Rhea Chakraborty talked about facing the intense media trial that she suffered over the death case of her late boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput. She recalled being chased by people, and thus was prepared to even go to jail for justice to be prevail. Recalling how her life was put to display, Rhea said:
“It had become a show and my life was on display. I was like, stop it. I thought, ye ho hi jaaye toh better hai. Let me go to jail. So many people were after me, that existence was not okay for me. I preferred everything gets clarified, even if that means going to jail.”

Talking more about her days of ordeal, Rhea recalled suffering from COVID-19 at the time of her jail term and being kept in solitary confinement for days. She revealed feeling hungry and being given food that was just bare minimum and nothing more. Moreover, she added that she slept for almost twelve hours straight to mentally escape from all that happened around her in the world. In her words:
“Due to COVID rules, I had to be in solitary confinement for 14 days. I was the only one in the room. I was asked if I’d like to have lunch. I was so hungry and tired that I ate whatever was given to me.”
Rhea Chakraborty’s life turned topsy-turvy, since she was arrested by the NCB over alleged involvement in supplying drugs to her late boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput, who died on June 14, 2020. Previously in an interview Mid-Day, Rhea opened up about how many people in the industry are still afraid and sceptical about hiring her for work. However, she added that the fraction of people with such reactions have lessened up over the years.

Earlier, while speaking at the India Today Conclave Rhea Chakraborty was asked whether she did end up supplying drugs to her boyfriend, late Sushant Singh Rajput. To this, the actress gave a very straightforward response and stated:
“I am done with this topic. I don’t want to talk about drugs; I don’t want to talk about NCB. I don’t want to talk about the CBI.”
