The director has been hitting the headlines since the last few months as the 'biggest project of his life', Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been doing wonders. Although the series has been receiving both positive and negative responses from the audience, the stellar performance of the cast left everyone baffled. Recently, the actresses from the series appeared on Kapil Sharma's Netflix show, and Richa Chadha's revelations left all stunned.
On The Great Indian Kapil's Show, the host, Kapil Sharma asked the Heeramandi cast if being on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's set made them nervous. Manisha Koirala mentioned that they used to get nervous almost before every scene. Meanwhile, Richa Chadha asked others in the cast about their highest numbers of retakes. While Sonakshi Sinha added that she had given the highest 12 retakes, Richa shared she had given a whopping 99 retakes for a scene in Heeramandi.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece, Sharmin Segal, has been grabbing all the headlines for her role in Heeramandi. While some users remained in awe of her acting skills, others trolled the actress to such a point that she had to turn off her comment section. For the unversed, Sanjay is Sharmin's maternal uncle. However, while the nepotism debate is always alive in Bollywood, Sharmin was also judged under the same banner by some of the users. Amid this, a video from the screening went viral, wherein Sanjay Leela Bhansali seemingly pushed Richa aside and held Sharmin close while posing for the paps. And such an incident left everyone irritated.

In an old interview with News18 Showsha, Richa Chadha stated that when she shot for Heeramandi, it was only ten days before her wedding, and during that time, she had no plans of stepping into motherhood. For the unversed, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are soon going to embrace parenthood with their first child. It was on February 9, 2024, when Richa and Ali announced their pregnancy.

In Heeramandi, Richa Chadha played the role of 'Lajjo', and she was reportedly paid a whopping amount of Rs. 1 crore for the show. While there has been a lot of criticism over Sanjay Leela Bhansali glorifying brothels and courtesans' lives in his work. However, it was Richa's witty response to a fan's criticism of Heeramandi that won hearts. On X, the netizen had called Heeramandi a 'bakwass movie'. Replying to the same, Richa said:
"It's a show, not a film, where did you buy tickets? Lie properly, at least, or don't lie."
